JOE MIXON vs BEARS LBs

Quietly lost in the turnovers and defensive scores is the fact that the returning number one rushing defense from last season just let the Tennessee Titans run all over the Bears, on their home field, to the tune of 140 yards. This is a defense that only allowed seven teams to break the century mark all season long and they just let one of last season's worst offenses have their way with them for most of Sunday's debut. Now they are on the road facing a far more potent offense. Long time Bengal, Joe Mixon, made an impressive debut with the Texans on Sunday, running for 159 yards and a healthy 5.3 YPC. On the Bears side, TJ Edwards picked up right where he left off in 2023, leading Chicago in tackles. Big FA signing Tremaine Edmunds had a far quieter day and that is not going to cut it against a Texan offense that already looks like a well oiled machine. Can the Bears bounce back to form and force Stroud to win the game against a talented Bear secondary or will Mixon shine again this week?

FOLORNUNSO FATUKASI & MARION EDWARDS JR vs BEARS INTERIOR OL

Houston's defensive line took it's biggest hit before the season even started losing FA signing Denico Autry to a six game suspension. That left the Texans pairing up Jacksonville castoff Folorunso Fatukasi with Seattle castoff Mario Edwards to form the interior of their defensive line and they had a great debut with each registering their first sacks of the young season. Bad news for Bears fans as they watching their interior offensive line spend most of last Sunday being flat out abused. I know all eyes are going to be on the Wright/Anderson rematch, but the Bears interior OL has to perform worlds better on Sunday night to even keep this game competitive.

STEFON DIGGS & TANK DELL vs JAYLON JOHNSON & TYRIQUE STEVENSON

Speaking of defensive pairs with a great debut in Week One, Bear cornerbacks Jaylon Johnson & Tyrique Stevenson also each notched their first interceptions of the young season, the latter taking his into the endzone for the game winning score. While the circumstances on paper look the same, second year QB with speedy receivers, the Texan offense is far more polished than the one Tennessee showed up at Solider Field with. That starts with the big trade the Texans made in the offseason for Bills superstar receiver Stefon Diggs, who already rewarded his new offense with two touchdown catches in his Texan debut. On the other side is last season's break out rookie Tank Dell. Dell's rookie season saw him set a franchise rookie record for receiving scores in just 11 games, but his season ended early due to a broken fibula. While his debut was quiet, he looked healthy and still commanded an equal target share. If the Bears talented corners can silence the Texans talented receivers, Chicago could walk away from the biggest Prime Time upset of the young season.

Thread is lit, links don't work tho. Please fix.

As this game is will be aired on NBC, you must subscribe to their streaming service to access the links.

I think it's called "pleasecock"???

I did the challenge, took me over a minute tho

Not bad for your first try!

I was so happy for that tutorial as I had been trying it with a fork for weeks.

Joe Mixon didn’t break a ton of tackles but looked good and decisive, kept knocking guys over, almost broke a couple of big plays.”

Texans’ RB Joe Mixon paced the NFL in rushing yards in Week 1, racking up 159 yards on 30 carries. Mixon is not always the most elusive back, and he had only 4 forced missed tackles — 0.13 forced missed tackles per attempt (t-27th among RBs) on Sunday. It flat-out might not matter much, given the Texans offense will be one of the top offenses in the NFL. The Texans’ offensive line helped Mixon average 2.77 yards before contact per attempt, which was 4th-best among running backs with at least 5 attempts. Opportunity is king, and weighted opportunity reigns supreme, so expect Mixon to continue to feast in a fantasy-friendly environment.

If the Texans run it like the Titans did on their 1st TD drive, this defense will be in for a long game. It’ll be a lot of man coverage, loaded boxes and blitzes leaving the secondary exposed if the rush doesn’t hit home. My guess is Johnson will be on Diggs, Tyrique on Collins and Gordon on Schultz or @MDB111™ ’s boy Tank Dell. Difficult matchups but not nearly impossible. Demarcus Walker could make a difference when he moves inside on 3rd down. Offense will actually have to show up Sunday night.

It would take a historic game, and I just don't see that coming. AND with Allen/Rodunze both banged up (and possibly out) that really doesn't help the OFF. It's a big day for DJM, and hopefully Swift/Kmet as well.

Texans 24
Bears 13

Caleb passes for 200+ yard, 1 td
DJM 100+ yards

I was super disappointed with the lack of GIFs created for Lovie Smith's beard. Hopefully the internet takes care of that for the next Bears v Texans matchup.

I am guessing Rome will play, Keenan won’t. My guesses are usually shit so there’s that….

If the O line doesn’t improve from last week it doesn’t matter who plays at WR. C’mon Bears, give Williams a chance to succeed today.

Said it before, if Caleb and the offense plays well and we lose the game I can handle that result, Houston is a better team. Would love it if they play well and win, just want to see a true NFL offense developing. And get your head out of your anus Waldron

Seeing how bad Hou previous opponent, the Colts, look today maybe the Bears have more of a shot than originally thought. Everyone counting them out of this one. But if the defense does its thing and the offense does enough while avoiding costly mistakes Bears win 23-20.

The Titans also look very bad and the Bears were lucky to beat them.

I'd like to see Kmet roaming the middle.

Hope the O can stay on the field and keep Stroud on the sideline all night. He can't score any points over there.

Even if they have to run a ton.

Bear Down.

True. I'm counting on a big improvement from the offense. Hopefully that was the worst game of Caleb's career and never has another one close to that.
He’s a bit of a r3tard. The offense, while not generally good, was very close. Not too concerned I think they will show up tonight.
