This is a great question that i also asked my source at Halas Hall shortly ago. He said this was included as a courtesy final task by Ryan Pace during an exit interview with George and Ted. Ryan and Ted still have a great relation and there's no ill will on Pace's end. He said he was going to do anything possible to help with any transitional issues leading into the next regime for the Chicago Bears.

It is true, they offered OK $15/hr and based on his work with Sam Mustipher, it was about $14.50 too much.
