"Blood relative" does not mean monster. It just means it's loosely related to the other movie. Everything I've read about it indicates that it's a prequel of some sorts leading up to the events in the first one. There's already been screenings of the movie and reviewers have stated there is no monster. It's supposedly a psychological thriller.

No, that wouldn't be smart. JJ knows Cloverfield has a cult following and have been itching for another movie.

Just going off what I've heard, friend. I've seen nothing that would lead me to believe there will be a monster outside of the name of the movie. I hope I'm wrong.
