First thing, find out how much Jayden Jaymes and Carmela Bing cost for the night, proceed to pay them and have an excellent night. Next awesome place in chicago. Season tix for a box. Then '57 Chevy Bel Air.

Welshman Luke Pittard won £1.3 million in a 2006 UK lottery play. He spent a portion of his prize money on a Canary Islands holiday, a wedding, and new house.

After only 18 months, however, Pittard felt bored. Early retirement didn’t suit him. So he returned to his previous job—at a Cardiff, Wales McDonald’s restaurant. Back among burgers, he feels much happier, despite the fact that his winnings interest makes him more than his restaurant wage.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Don't really see why this made the list. Big deal he works at McDonald's. If he's content, who cares.

Not even close.

I would like to believe that if I were ever fortunate enough to win a big pile of money that I would use part of it to do good things anonymously like donate to homeless shelters.

Agreed - he was the only one on there myself that I thought was out of place.

If you won 100 million dollars (after taxes and payout rate) what would you do with the money? What would you do first?

I wouldnt really change much. Maybe buy a house, but nothing beyond your typical 2 story in suburbia. Pay off my car. Then I dont know. I sure as hell wouldnt tell anyone about it. Id just be like, "i got a raise".

Everyone says that they would go nuts without a job or whatever, not me, I know for a fact that I would be perfectly content with never having to work again. I could find a way to bide my time.

I always wonder which side of that fence I would be on. Since we want to operate and own an ice rink, I could have it both ways given the right staff. Work a little, play a lot.

That's a no brainer for me. I have only a few passions in life and I don't like people enough to want to spend a lot of time with them living it up.

1) Bye bye job. I hate when people continue to work when they win a big lottery. Those jobs could be used by others. If you need to keep busy go do volunteer work...they always need helping hands. I guess if you are a business owner or want to becomes one that is a different story.

2) Family gets a chunk. I don't have a big family so it's not going to suck up the bank and no one in my family are the types to go all ape shit or raise a fuss about wanting more and more money.

3) Charity donations. Would have to narrow it down to ones that I feel passionate about.

4) Buy a nice studio somewhere to paint my ass off.

5) Open a Gallery for artists

6) Buy a modest place in Chicago for the hockey seasons and season tickets. Also would throw a lot of Hawk get togethers. Guess I would have to buy a place here too as there is no place I would rather be in the summers. And a lake side property somewhere..modest though...very modest..I don't like big homes.

7) Some nice trips to the country sides and some secluded beaches and some car road trips with friends. None of that resort shit though I don't like being pampered and I don't think that would ever change.

8) Start a scholarship and a few other things like that.

9) Get myself the best doctor and specialists for my soft tissue syndrome and I would probably donate a lot to research on it.

Of course I would have to hire an accountant, lawyer and all that other realistic stuff. But I honestly would not be one to flaunt it and I am not even sure if I would know how too. I don't have a thing for cars or big homes or fine wines..I barely drink and I am not a full on party type. I don't think that would change either.

The big thing is having to disappear out of the public eye for a while after you win and keeping it on the low. What usually kills people are all the solicitors and greedy friends and new "friends".

After the obvious stuff (paying off debts, giving money to family, helping those less fortunate, season tickets for Blackhawks ect...) I'd buy some homes or vacation property in a few places; a mountain cabin near a ski resort (Taos, NM maybe or Durango, CO ?), beach front property in the interior of Panama (maybe Veraguas or Bocas Del Torro)and a home near my Mom and Dad. I'd spend more time with my family.

I'd spend time filling out my bucket list and start working on it.

Eventually I'd want to resume work, but on a volunteer basis, probably to an underserved area.

agreed, I would have plenty to do. Id open a bar without question.

I would share my money with people of course. The difficulty comes with who to share it with. Parents are a no brainer, but when it comes to friends it gets tricky.

Heres the way i put it, if you've helped me move, you are getting lottery money. When you need to fucking move thats when you find out who your friends are, because moving sucks ass, and if someone is willing to help you do that for nothing (but usually it should be understood the beers on you at the bar later) you know they are a real friend.

No I wouldnt give a dime to my brother and I'd even comprehend giving my mom an allowance that I would cut the **** off, because I know if she won the lottery she would set him up, just so she can have the peace of mind my brother isnt living on the streets even if he is a useless alcoholic. Shit, I know its only a matter of time until my mom will let my brother live with her. I told her I know she will and if she does I wont speak to her until she kicks his ass to the curb, thats no joke.

He deserves the streets. Hes been and is an asshole even when hes not drunk. I wish he was dead, if my moms parents werent absurdly catholic he woulda been seedy embryonic remains in the dumpster outside an abortion clinic and frankly that would have been better for the world.

As for my niece, yes, I would make he she had stuff and had her education paid for, but I'll be damned if I would give her mother a dime.

This is a little off topic, but can you pinpoint a time when your brother changed and started on a downward spiral? I have found that most people develop those problems and addictions after suffering some sort of trauma in their lives.

A little harsh don't you think? Life's too short TSD, and he is your brother.

One thing I would do is contact a lawyer right away and set up a trust. I would not claim the prize in my own name cause I would not want anyone to know I was the winner. For example, about 3 years ago somewhere in Streamwood won $80M in the Mega Millions game. Their name and photo was never published and they were able to maintain 100% anonimity. They had a trustee claim the prize (I think it was their lawyer). Beautiful. The last thing I would want is my picture plastered everywhere with me holding up a giant check. Let someone else have the photo op and I'll just look at the bank statement and smile.
