Tom Thayer went to my grade school, St. Raymonds, in Joliet. He was playing on the 8th grade team in 6th grade. Varsity his freshman year at Joliet Catholic.

I saw that. Being young and being that heavy. Any sort of consistent physical activity, hes gonna drop weight rapidly.

Football is live in Texas as you know... this is kind of a big deal, and I don't get it. Why is a kid able to play against his peers in one league but not the other. Let him play where he wants and just treat him like any other freakishly huge 7th grader. And pray you don't chop block him on top of you.

Many families hold their sons back from school until they are 6. So this kid may be 12 and starting 6th grade this year. There is no public school football under UIL at 6th grade in Texas. I think it's a safety issue. Don't want a 6 foot 300 lb kid pancaking 75 pound kids. As competitive as kids sports gets you can bet it would happen.
