Thank God, Boston and Montreal along with Philly and Buffalo were getting old

No joke, I was contemplating making a thread about this series simply because I think it's the most entertaining Hawks playoff series of these past 3 seasons. I actually just re-watched it over the past week as I deleted them from my DVR. Now it turns out NHL network is replaying it... perfect.

I really do think this was the "best" of all the recent Hawks playoff rounds...

-Against the Hawks most hated rival (who were heavy favorites)
-Hawks get embarrassed and slapped around to the brink of elimination
-Features a great comeback of Bolland to the lineup
-Seabrook getting popped by Torres
-Fuckin John Scott actually has an impact in a series
-ENORMOUSLY enjoyable blowouts of Luongo (this never gets old no matter what team it's against)
-Frolik destroying Schneider's groin on an incredibly crucial penalty shot forcing Luongo back into a game he was benched for (!!!)
-LITTLE BEN SMITH with the OT winner in Chicago to send it to 7
-Crawford playing an unreal game 7 (single handedly added some figures to his contract, no doubt)
-Toews' impossible game tying goal in game 7 (after Van targeted him so hard during the series to the point of containment)

I dare say that if the Hawks would have won this series in game 7's overtime, it would go down as easily one of the top 3 Blackhawks playoff series ever. As it stands, I think it was incredibly compelling and more memorable than even some of the series during their Stanley Cup run.

Great, great series and re-watching it only makes me more excited for the upcoming season.

First 3 games...not great
Next 3 games....awesome
Game 7...not so much

I took an OT loss better when we lost to the Wings a few years ago in the playoffs..

Games 4 and 5 are great, Game 6 is simply orgasmic, as is the third period of Game 7. I think I'll turn it off after that.

Do the scrolling comments at the bottom mention that Burrows is a weak *****, that we were the better team, or that we would have won that series in 6 if we hadn't clanged 4 off the iron in Game 1?

They were so incredibly outmatched in that Detroit series though (and it was their first try in the playoffs). Yeah, most of the games went to OT, but the two that didn't were enormous blowouts that could have been even worse than the score dictated.

Those were hard games to watch, but it was hard to be really upset at the outcome. That was a team full of 20 year olds getting taught how to play hockey.

Aye, and Detroit schooling the Hawks in pseudo-interference.

Van up 2-0 in the first.

Watching this game for the second time in a week is made so much easier just knowing the eventual fate that is in store for these Canucks.
