This may seem unlikely, but I think it is possible. Unless we turn this around, we aren't going anywhere. Ricketts thought we could win it all this year. He, as a fan, will be mightily dissappointed. He will be very sad and wish things were going better for the Cubs. Then it will occur to him that he can change things with a deep pocket. He could tell Hendry to have another spending spree much like the one following the 2006 season (and a little more after the 2007 season). Cliff Lee and Carlos pena are both free agents, Ricketts can increase payroll, and Lee and Lilly will likely be off the books. Nady can be re-signed as well. I think Tracy is also a FA, but he can be re-signed as well.
