Is there one sane person in the world who believes in the December 21, 2012 apocalypse?

Discuss even though I doubt anybody believes it

According to the bible no one will know when the world will actually end.

:yep: So when that one guy predicts it every other month basically we know it isn't coming soon lol

:elephant:

If the world ends, it ends. If not, life goes on. I figure I'm good either way.

About the world ending totally? Probably not. My father and uncle think that something is gonna happen. They think a group of people are gonna be upset that nothing happens and are gonna take matters into their own hands. They think that society is just gonna break down and it's gonna be like The Walking Dead, without the zombies. I don't think anything is gonna happen, personally

the sun aligns with the middle of the galaxy band on 12/21/12,i think, something like that

there's certainly a galactic signifiance on the date, that's a big reason why the mayans noted the date, since they were pretty avid astronomers

It could be a lot of things. Hell the dead could rise and be the apocalypse, or a massive earthquake could be it. Anything is possible on this earth right?

Well the Mayans can be wrong as some scholars believe that leap year wasnt calculated and therefore we are technically passed dec 21. Either way, they may be right they may be wrong.

What I believe is the actual science. There will be an alignment on Dec 21st, that could be huge or it could have little affect. If anything that would be the reason for doomsday.

I am not concerned about it to let it affect your daily life and anxiety levels. If it does you might want a benzo.

I think we are in for change though

I mean thats pretty much it in a nutshell. Did the mayans think that was our doom? I mean I cant see anything else happening except a few crazies on the streets. Probably better to stay home that day and stay out of metro areas not because of the doomsday but the idiots that are out there as we have seen in the last 6 weeks or so with all the shootings.

not really....the mayans as we perceive them never really delved into the apocalyptic anyway..that's more of the mexicas, but they could have mixed

the mayan calendar is more of a celestial track than that of human prophecy, and the end date marks an important celestial event, but does not indicate that it is the end of the world...

it could be a marking of a new age, or the end of the calendar and returning back to the beginning, like a normal calendar(consider the fact the tablet of which the calendar is on is circular)

there is also the notion that the mayans may not have gotten to the next age because they did not finish it, or were working on another tablet when drought hit(or some other cause but this seems to be the most likely cause of the mayan's downfall at this point)

the apocalypse notion has been adopted in recent times

ya that day will be interesting for sure, even if nothing does happen in apocalyptic terms
