Comment on how you think the team did and as you have time what grades you'd give individual players, coaches, etc.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Ratings:

Bull Pen --- F
Starting pitchers: --- Low C (Sale and Quintana an A) Rest of them a low D
Outfield --- Defense: C minus Offense: B minus
Infield --- Defense: C (Alexi an A, rest a C minus) Offense: B plus (2nd base an unknown)
Catching --- Defense: C minus Offense: C
Bench --- Defense: C Offense D
Overall grade: C minus

Coaching --- C Cooper is a great pitching coach and Steverson a great hitting coach. But Ventura stinks as a manager. Whether it was he or Hahn or both, they kept Beckham, DeAza, and the Big Donkey around way too long, especially Dunn. WHen you 4 hole hitter is lousy, they can and will pitch around one of the two or three best hitters in the entirety of baseball, Abreau.

Speaking of Quintana, yall should trade him to the Cubs.

Flowers – C+
His defense is right around average and his offense is actually slightly above average at the position. Also the majority of his home runs seemed to be difference makers for the team.
Abreu – A+
No one knew he could hit major league pitching. Or take a walk, or hit for average. We all know now and would be the clear MVP if It wasn’t for “A Fish Called Mike”
Beckham – D-
I’m biased, he gets a D – instead of an ‘F’ Best of luck in the playoffs Gordo.
Ramirez – B
Above average with glove and the O. He along with Abreu carried the team offensively the first two months of the season.
Gillaspie – B+
Didn’t start with the team at 3b. Everyone thought Davidson. Everyone was wrong. Great year and one of the guys I really look forward to in 2015.
De Aza – D
Didn’t really offer much except a couple of good games in early April.
Eaton – A
Got hurt, and still went all out. Impressive CF and leadoff guy for the Sox.
Viciedo – C-
He’s never going to be the 30 hr guy not a guy with high obp, nor a good fielder. I will not miss him when he’s gone.
Dunn – C+
Second best hitter on the team that gave a decent obp. Never came close to getting career averages. Had a shot at playoffs and couldn’t get in to A’s lineup for play-in game.
Konerko – D
He was done last year, then again, hardly ever playing is tough. Great last three games as a tribute to a team all time great. He did a great job helping Abreu learn the D of first.
Garcia – I
He got hurt on a flukey dive. Made strides to come back. Another guy I am looking forward to next year.
Sierra – B
Picked up off the pile and was a pleasant surprise. I’d take him as our fourth next year.
Quintana – A-
200 innings, 3.32 era, and only 10 homers given up. Great friendly contract. Love him!
Sale – A+
Future CY Young, with an outside chance of “bucket listing it” this season. Love him!
Noesi – C+
Another guy off of the pile. He could be a #5 guy and replaceable if he bombs. He deserves a shot.
Danks – C-
This was worse until his last few starts. Many a fan would like him traded. If not he gets the #4 spot in the rotation.
Petricka, Putnam, Guerra – C+
I lumped them all together since the rest of the pitchers get ‘F’ or ‘I’. Cooper and Hahn have their work cut out for them prior to the start of 2015.

Cooper - – B
Ran out of miracles this time around. He still gets the benefit of the doubt.
Steverson – C
Most of the new guys did well (Eaton, Abreu, Sierra) and he deserves some credit for that. However, the team has a slash line that might be worse than 2013 if you take out Abreu.
Ventura – D
Gets along with the players and the media. Cannot manage. Sorry Robin. I will always think of you as the #2 hitter we could have had. Plus a lot of Grand Slams
Hahn – B
With all the injuries the record doesn’t speak well enough of the moves he’s made.
