On dish you have to upgrade to get NBCSN from package 200 to 250 ($10), FOX sports 1 is available on package 200, but it get FOX sports 2 you have to upgrade to package 250. I don't get it, CBSSN is available, but NBCSN isn't available on package 200. FOX sports 1 is available and FOX sports 2 isn't available on package 200. These cable and dish providers SUCK balls.......

70 million a year for English rights. Spanish rights could be another 20 million. So a total of 90 million a year for 8 years 720 million total

2015..21 teams / 90 million = 4.285 million each team will get. They probably won't get all of that, but say they get 3.5 million. Andy there you go that's "Keane-money", you won't have an excuse in 2015 to go get players for that kind of cash.

Damn, and to think how little we were getting before... :fap:

And the NHL was making $200 million on its last national (US-only I think) TV deal... obviously that new Canadian mega-TV deal with skyrocket that combined number, but this is good news that we are beginning to narrow that gap.

Wonder how much TSN and RDS pay?

I don't know the statistics or anything but doesn't this mean even less people will watch the MLS now? Either way, I'm not paying anything extra to watch the games so I'll miss out on a good chunk of the games I guess.

Since ESPN is in on this as well, how much will they exactly air? As much as before, which wasn't much at all? Or will they air more games if so than that might be good. Guess I won't be watching to much MLS after next season

Thanks a lot NBC, I really liked you !! :fist:

Unfortunately, sounds like less. But by the end of that 8 year deal, if it doesn't kill our growth, we'll be due for a pretty large raise too and hopefully can go back to more available channels.

But the league, of course, gets $.

Don't forget that streams are also very easy to come by, and for most games, you'll still have local broadcasts assuming you are in the Chicago area.

Also sounding like ESPN3 may be showing most games too fwiw.

Well, if that's true, for Dish users who enjoy watching MLS this actually may be good news....but I don't have Dish. That is wierd though, I thought NBCSN was fairly easily available

U-Verse doesn't have NHL Network, and Dish used to not have MLB Network... most TV service providers find some way to screw the fans.

I'm still not sure how I feel about this. What I would really prefer is for ESPN to give the MLS its proper due. There are so many days when they have some shit programming on, and instead could be showing MLS.

Don't know why NBC would not have gone harder to get the MLS back. With the addition of the Prem rights, they could have secured soccer as theirs for a while.

But now Fox, with the MLS, Bundesliga, and the next world cup have set themselves up nicely. For me, either channel is just as easy to find, so no biggie for me.

And FS1 will have MLB too this year. That's a way to become a top sports network.

NBCSN will still have Premier League and NHL, so it won't kill them.

MLS TV ratings honestly probably aren't worth as much as the league's going to be getting, maybe NBC figured that out. Which is why I think that as a whole, this is probably a good deal for the league.
