I missed it but this has been the overall consensus. I saw a vine of Gordon's dunk where he went under both legs....ridiculous. Definitely happy the dunk contest is exciting again after being lame for years.

Gotta admit I didn't watch it either, just seen a few vines which were amazing, but it's great to see excitement brought back to the dunk contest

Unfortunately saw everything but the dunk contest. Skills challenge was lame, that bullshit where they had a 3 point contest between Draymond and Kevin hart was lame as ****. 3 point contest was nice though

the center position isn't going out of style like everyone seems to think it is....

Because a rookie center won a lame ass "skills" challenge?

Sent from the mod station in Nome, Alaska.

ha, I mean considering the "skills" challenge is kind of set up to favor smaller, wing type players...and instead a center won is nothing to just sneeze at completely

Well.. consider this...
(Which I am paraphrasing from reddit)

The Skills challenge went from:
Layup
Dribbling between obstacles
Short pass
Bounce pass
Shot from top of the key
Long pass
Dribbling between obstacles
Layup

To what it is now:
Dribbling between obstacles (in a straight line)
Normal pass (which you don't have to make, just try 3 times)
Run across the floor for a layup
Three pointer

Also Towns winning doesn't change the fact the center position has evolved well beyond what it was originally. Could you ever imagine Kareem Abdul Jabbar or Shaq competing and winning such a thing?

has it evolved? sure, all im saying is the Center position isn't going away ever. its basketball, being the tallest and biggest guy on the court is still an advantage and always will be

That equals skill now. Running straight. Throwing a basketball. Making layup and a 3.

Towns is the PERFECT center for todays NBA so its different

i have quotes of me saying this before he was even drafted if you think im moving goal post

naa, I believe you. and while his game fits todays NBA, his game would have fit just fine in the 80's as well

Dunk contest was great. Gordon and Lavine have some legit all time great dunks. So effortless for them...none of that 7 attempt BS to get a dunk. First attempts every time.

3pt contest was also great. Even though Booker did terrible, he's a guy I'd expect to see back there several times in the next several years.

Booker didn't do terrible, really. He did at least advance a round

Would love him on the Bulls.

You know what, I was remembering someone else's 1st round score as his 2nd round score. He actually did pretty dang good for a rookie.

Yep. Especially since he's what, 19? Man...I'm trying to think back when I was 19 and can't imagine the responsibility and lifestyle he's living right now. Seems like a really good kid.

I guess it depends on the person. It's crazy for me to think about. But most of these guys have a lot of help from family, the organization, and financial advisers etc.
