Y'all know the deal. Anything around major league baseball can be talked about here.

Ill go first. I think the ban on smokeless tobacco is ridiculous.

Meh. The chewing tobacco ban is just a "look good" rule by the mlb. It's not something that would be easily enforced, and I doubt they try very hard to enforce it

I'll go ahead and assume you're a younger guy. Tobacco....smokeless or not, is just some real bad shit that strips years off your life. I quit 12 years ago and I'm still paying the price for my ignorance. I've had friends die from it's use. I applaud MLB for at least attempting to get it out of the hands of these young guys. It's use is nothing more than legalized suicide.

It's there choice. They shouldn't be forced not to do something. Free will. They are adults they can make their own decisions. I have watched baseball my whole life. I have seen players chew or dip a ton. I have never had any will to want to chew or dip. I've done it but never liked it. But, still, it's their choice.

Yea it their choice and they can use before and after games if they choose..

Not a big deal.. They'll survive not being able to chew for 3 hours during a baseball game..
Maybe it will help some to actually quit

Cancer sucks... If a change like this helps discourage X percentage of the younger generation from using , its a good thing.

Not sure where or why you choose that percentage , but if it discourages 10,000 kids under 20 ( future generations) out of 100000 that a huge success..
So yes, yeah MLB

I read in a semi biographical baseball book that several players in the nineteen eighties dumped tobacco in favor of khat? Not sure if that is true? Seems khat (leaf) is equally stimulating, if not more so, and doesn’t require a large chew?

They still have the right to make that choice. Nobody says they can't chew. They just can't chew and play in MLB. But still their free choice.

Leake needs 6,786,365 pitches to get through his first inning as a Cardinal after loading the bases and walking in a run with two outs. Ha!

the Yankees batted 12 times in the first inning and scored 6 runs but the Astros with a grand slam in the second make it a one run game LOL

Castro has started hot for them. He just hit a 3 run shot. He changed his stance. He doesn't open up anymore. He stays straight up and down with a little bend at the knees. He crushed that ball, so lets see if these adjustments worked for him.

Edit: He has set the Yankee mark for most RBI's in the first two games being a Yankee with 7. Extremely early and everyone knows my feelings on how I did not like the trade. Lets hope Warren is dominant for us.

They are highly paid, professional ROLE MODELS which is why this ban is spot on

They shouldn't be ROLE MODELS to anyone. They are human beings. The ROLE MODELS bullshit went away a long time ago. Kids should look up to someone they actually know. Its just a blame game parents use.

I'm neither here nor there on the ban but this spot on. If your kids role models are baseball players you're doing it wrong.

Yankees fans are going to force me to root against Castro. I saw so much "we fleeced the Cubs" and "Castro didn't try in Chicago" stuff on Twitter last night.

Lol I think in the end they win this trade by a good margin, but if the Cubs win. I cant complain. He was never Theo and Jed's guy and he was the last of the Jim Hendry era. It seems Theo wanted to wipe that away.

I liked Castro. I am glad he got a fresh start in NY and it's going very well. As mentioned, he just wasn't one of Epstein's type of guys.
