So I guess the Bulls just decided to sit this offseason out for the most part. I guess that's better than them f'ing it up even more.
Unless someone trades for Coby/Vuc/Ayo, not really much they can do. The roster is already full

Seems like Ayo will be moved soon. Not much of a return though

Ayo would be a good candidate to acquire a few 2nd rounders, but AKME is allergic to acquiring draft capital so I'm really not looking forward to the eventual return here.

Plus Ayo doesn't make much so while he is extremely tradable, the 1:1 swaps that AK has been doing would likely net us just a garbage player while Ayo is at least a solid rotational player.

Ive been so busy, didn't see we picked up Yuki Kawamura.

He's flashy as hell. That's a great pick up. I can't wait to hear what Stacey comes up with.

Too bad we'll probably never see him on the full time roster for Stacey to have enough time to come up with cool catchphrases :(

I hope I'm wrong on that, Yuki can ball

Supposedly Lakers are inquiring about Ayo. All reports so far have pointed to Ayo being traded over Coby. KC Johnson has repeatedly said that Coby is valued very high internally. We'll see how that plays out though, supposedly Giddey was also valued highly but here we are with contract negotiations...Bulls don't value him highly enough to have overpaid him outright.

A random thought I had about Giddey's extension...

If I was Giddey, presuming the Bulls don't bend on not giving him 30M+/year, I'd just take the QO, ball out next year, then go get overpaid in 2026 when more teams have cap space and being a UFA. There is of course the risk of injury and then getting screwed over, but in a situation where you have no leverage, bet on yourself.

Ironically, were Giddey to go down such a path, it would hilariously put the Bulls in a worse position if he plays well since playing well in the upcoming season leads to another season of mediocrity. If performing, now he's a UFA and Bulls have to overpay to try to keep him, and maybe he just walks. If Giddey sucks or gets injured, well now you can sign him for less, but now there's questions on if he's even worth that money...and he can still just leave if he wants. Basically, if Giddey goes at plays even just to the same level as he did this past season, he should be able to get the money he wants from some team, Bulls or otherwise.

But practically speaking, players usually want the security as well as the money, so maybe Giddey does end up settling for a more "team friendly" deal in the end this offseason.
