in 35 minutes. Sounds good?

Well, that´s the total stats from Jimmy Butler this season.

Now imagine this would have been a single game. I know you can´t say it that easy because he only played when the games were decided, but it´s still impressive to me!

He is also shooting 86% from the field and 90% from the freethrow line.

I expected him to play in the game against the Bobcats. I thought with Noah and Gibson out, Deng would play many minutes at the PF spot so Korver and Butler share some minutes at SF. But he didn´t play a single second. I wonder how he feels?

Instead Tom Thibodeau decided to play Scalabrine, who played gr8 don´t get me wrong.

But come on!

When I listen and read how everybody from the coaching staff talks about Jimmy you gotta wonder why he isn´t playing?! I know he is a rookie but what´s the point? A player will only get better by playing more!

Even if the Bulls are up by about 25 in the last quarter, he only gets about 4 minutes. That´s too less to get into a rhythm.

I also would like to see him on the court with Watson, Brewer, Gibson and Asik to see how he fits! Playing with James, Lucas and Scalabrine at the same time doesn´t help at all!

Now that Deng has a little wrist injury do you expect him to play a little more?

Thoughts?

I said it when they drafted him that Jimmy Butler could have an impact at some point this season. His style and attitude fits the mold of this team. However, his limited play is justified. With the way the other reserves have played, he needs to get more time in learning the speed of the NBA and find a role on the team. Before the year's over, I think he'll make some positive contributions to our team.

The lack of a real preseason or extended training with the team is probably keeping him from getting many minutes now, hopefully by the end of the year he has a role in the bench mob though. Its crazy to think the season is almost a third of the way through..

plus, why rush him in when he can learn by watching the vets play. he has a long career ahead of him, no need to rush him in

eh, to me the best experience in the NBA is to actually play in games. Not saying he needs to play in crunch time, but a few minutes in the 2nd quarter/early 4th quarter would be nice.

With Deng hurt, Butler is going to have an opportunity against the Nets to get more than 2-4 minutes.

Is Deng out? If he's not..Thibs will still ride him.

He's day to day, but I don't think Thibs will push him too hard. It's like we have been trying our best to lose for the last two games with short handed line-ups, and we continue to rest key players.

Deng injured his wrist in the game yesterday...he still played 39 minutes.

If anyone has earned a little rest its Deng.
This could be an opportunity to see what Butler is really made of.

Rose injures his toe, finishes the game, missed the next few. Noah injures his ankle, finishes the game, misses the next game. JL3 injures his groin, finishes the game, misses the next game.

IDK, there seems to be a weird trend here.

Well if Deng sits out, obviously he sits out. But if he plays, he'll probably still play the same amount of minutes.

And 95% of those stats came in garbage time vs end of the bench players

He did say that in the OP.

However, all of Butler's blocks did occur before the game was decided. He does have legit stats.

I think that in such a short season Thibs must give Deng some more rest because it's gonna be hard missing him at playoff time. All teams must try to have their players healthy because thats gonna be the key this year.No matter if you lose some games. If you won't have your best players when you need them it gonna suck.Jimmy Buttler should take 15-20 minutes in every game vs non playoff level teams.
