are not first round picks. They are 2nd, 3rd and 6th round picks. And outside of Peyton, look at all the highest drafted QBs this weekend ...

Luck (#1 overall) - beaten by 6th round pick
Newton (#1 overall) - beaten by 2nd round pick

Even Brees, who himself was not a #1 pick but is an elite QB, was beaten by a team with a 3rd round pick.

But #14 overall in the first round isn't high enough to get a QB you can win with?

But Rex was a 1st rounder who defied all the odds....only to lose to another #1 overall in the Super Bowl.

Cutler benefited from one of the best defenses and #1 scoring and turnover defense in football and still missed the playoffs almost every year, so it's a bit rich for you to be bringing that up.

Are you saying you don't believe in Cutler?

Yes, let's forget the talent on offense and OCs around him. I'm sure most other QBs would have won Superbowls.

.

OT micky, but didn't you predict the Hawks to be a .500 team this season

No. I was one of many posters who thought they were a bit overrated and were going to lose out to the Niners in the division. You act like I was the only person who said that.

I guess annoying the fanboys has it's price. Oh well, I'll live.

The Bears didn't have a good defense this year.

So, in your opinion, the Bears should ignore the defensive line, the linebackers, and the secondary, and select a QB at 14? You want them to do this despite Jay Cutler being good enough to get the job done? Sure, he may not be elite, but he can still get it done.

Just out of mere curiousity, do you think the Bears still miss the playoffs if Cutler finishes the season in 2011?

The 49ers are just going to win the next 7 SB's anyways so what's the point.

I doubt anyone thinks that, but they're certainly in a much better place than the Bears. Wouldn't you like to compete with them? Lol if you think that's going to happen with Cutler.

Didn't realize emery traded away all his picks but the first round...

Guys you just don't get it. Football comes down to QBs, that's it. You don't have Colin Kaepernick, go **** yourself cause you ain't winning a SB for the next 7 years.

Put Kaepernick on the Jags next season. BOOM! Instant SB champs for the next 7 season. Guaranteed.

Is that of interest to you, or are you just desperately trying to cover up the fact that the Bears just blew their next three years by signing your favorite player instead of getting a young guy to compete with the better teams?

Does this young guy we would be signing play defense?

Kaepernick went most of the season with most of his weapons in street clothes. Stop the excuses. Cutler simply isn't a winner.

Guys, have you not watched the Bears this past season? The defense won every single game that Josh McCown did not play in.

Brian Urlacher and Mike Brown came back from their prime for the Cutler games and they left when McCown was playing. They said that they wanted to give Bostic and Greene some experience.

Tommie Harris came back from 2006 and Henry Melton came back from 2012 to solidify the Bear defensive line.

I can't tell which is more extreme, Broc's hyperbole or 253313's stupidity?

Either way...they both are doing a good job of proving your point
