...is the record of the Chicago Bulls when Keith Bogans scores 6 or more points.

82-game regular season: 26-2
post-season: 5-1

CHI record when Bogans scores less than 6 points:

82-game regular season: 36-18
post-season: 4-6

Total w/ Bogans below 6 points: 40-24

See, this is why we need a consistent shooting guard. We had that good of a record with our starting SG only chipping in 6? Imagine what our record wouldve been with someone chipping in a solid 12-15!

Why do you guys think I am pointing this out?

Either of these two reasons:
1. If we can get Bogans to score, we will be a good team even if he's our starter

OR

2. Imagine how good a record we could've had with a SG who fills up the points column

The main reason I am pointing this out is to show what just a little bit of consistent scoring would do for the Chicago Bulls. Keith Bogans was a player who could only score in one way: catch-and-shoot. And he could not create for himself or other players off of the dribble. Now, the Bulls are going to (likely) have a guy who could average 5 more points than Bogans in even the same amount of playing time (17 min/gm) in which Bogans played last year.

And Rip Hamilton can create for himself and others off of the dribble.

And he shoots off of screens and plays off of screens as well as Kyle Korver (with better defense).

All Hamilton does is run off screens, if thats what you mean by creating his own shot. He is not creating his shot by breaking people down with his ballhandling. He will be a midrange shooting version of Kyle Korver with better defense.

This. However, this is still better than what Bogans did last year. But Rami's example also supports what I've said since the loss in the ECF. We don't need a huge upgrade to make it to the Finals & win. We are the deepest team in the NBA, with the MVP, the Coach of the Year, & the #1 defense. But, oh I forgot, we don't have Lebron so we'll never win shit.

:yep: bulls really need a consistent scoring threat at SG

rip would be a good fit there...he's also not a bad 3 point shooter...which i think is important when you talk about opening up the middle because the defense has to respect the 3

Ha the Bulls could run an offense with both Rip and Korver running off screens...maybe screens from each other. That would create some spacing if nothing else. I'll wait until someone confirms it before getting too excited. NBA.com article says Gar has been pretty quiet regarding both the Howard and Rip rumors. Doesn't get my hopes up too much, but there whole Bogans being kept out of training camp has to mean something right?

If we get Rip who do you guys think starts Brewer or Rip? I think Brewer can give us at least 6 points per game just running along the baseline and open jumpers but I would much rather have Rip start because of offense .... Whoever starts at the begging of the season you can pretty much guarantee will start for the whole season barring injury
