Williams arms are average for a NFL LT.

Uhhh.....no, they're not. He's below average.

Behind the measurements: Height vs. arm length - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

“Great” arm length (35-plus inches)
D’Brickashaw Ferguson, Jets: 35½ inches (2006)
Ryan Clady, Broncos: 36 inches (2008)

“Good” arm length (34-34 7/8 inches)
Jammal Brown, Saints: 34¼ inches (2005)
Jeff Otah, Panthers: 34 5/8 inches (2008)

“Average” arm length (33-33 7/8 inches)
Michael Roos, Titans: 33 5/8 inches (2005)
Levi Brown, Cardinals: 33 1/8 inches (2007)

“Below average” arm length (32-32 7/8 inches)
Robert Gallery, Raiders: 32¼ inches (2004)
Chris Williams, Bears: 32¾ inches (2008)

Interesting when you see that, and I thought I just saw a pro football weekly dealie that said Ryan Clady was the next best LT in football.

Even more interesting when you realize that Gallery was originally drafted as an LT, and is now playing guard.

PS - that Raiders offensive line: Good, or the Bears D-line bad?

What the fuck does that mean?

I thought the whole point of signing Peppers was that he would take on the double, and open things up on the other side, and to be able to blitz better?

If the Bears have to wait and see how good Peppers really is, then they are in a lot of fucking trouble.

The problem with that is Tommie Harris isn't good anymore. He's a mediocre player who's lost most of his explosiveness. So they have to hope that Anderson/Idonjie can get 10 sacks combined and Marcus Harrison can step his game up and finally be the player most people think he should be

I think Tommie's lost edge stems from inability to stay healthy. IF he can stay healthy I think we might see some better play from him but then again sometimes I think players only want to perform in contract years.

Tommie Harris being the key to the defense is what I have been saying all training camp/preseason.

I think it just stems from what the injuries have done to his knees

This defense has so many question marks that they need alot of things to go right. Can someone else step up to give you close to double digits sacks on the line? Can Urlacher stay healthy? How the hell is this secondary going to defend people?
