The Memphis Edge: Grizzlies/NBA Archives

Signing Allen would mean Memphis would completely severe ties with Ronnie Brewer, who it acquired from Utah for a protected 2011 first-round pick in February. Brewer wasn't extended a $3.7 million qualifying offer and became an unrestricted free agent.

Brewer apparently wasn't willing to commit to the Grizzlies' latest offer because of pending negotiations with Chicago and Utah.

I hope so, while everyone is thinking 3 Point Shooters and guys who can spread the floor I am thinking more about who is going to guard guys like Kobe, Wade and LeBron guys like that when we play those teams

Brewer obviously can't shut those guys down, NOBODY CAN but I have seen games in the past in which Brewer defended Kobe as well as anyone can:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVTcZ6AmJfg]YouTube - Kobe Bryant hits TOUGH jumper over Ronnie Brewer![/ame]

^Kobe made the shot but Brewer forces Kobe to make TOUGH shots instead of just him shooting over smaller guys like Hinrich or Redick:dunno:

Hopefully the Bulls get him, even if they get Redick they should add Brewer if they can, we need a Slasher/Finisher especially since Deng is SOFT and would rather shoot mid range jumpers since he act like he is afraid of contact

The Griz nevered offered him 3.7M to keep him around. I say a 3 year contract worth 10-12M or something.

If Tony Allen got 3 years, $10 million, then I think Brewer will IMO get somewhere from $12-15 million

True, he could get as much as 12mil for a 3yr. Hope we can get him for what Allen is getting from Memphis. That is just a couple more million the FO can put to used with the PG backup etc etc.

It all depends, if the Bulls get Redick and what they offer him the first year.

Ronnie Brewer 2009-2010:8.8 PPG .487 FG% .258 3p% 64% FT 3.2 RPG 1.6 SPG 2.7 APG

JJ Redick 2009-2010:9.6 PPG .439 FG% .405 3p% 86% FT 1.9 RPG .34 SPG 1.9 APG

Ronnie Brewer was progressively worse in his role as a backup for Memphis and isnt nearly as good a shooter as Redick(outside shooter) Redick is also more efficient..and those statistics are regular season...redick was even better in the postseason

cant go wrong with either but if you need 3 point shooting you go with redick no question

Nice. Get Brewer and Redick, we could use them both and we dont have a SG on the roster and no, KK is not a SG. Maybe we can still have enough to bring back Brad because i know he likes Chicago.

Speaking of Centers, since Anytime brought up Miller. What was the progress with all the Shaq talk to ATL or CHI?

I'd rather have Roger Mason or Shannon Brown.

I was also sad to see Luther Head sign. I really though he would have been a REALLy good fit here in Chicago.
