Blackhawks and Kings meet for their second meeting of the season; the last game played between the two teams had Crawford out battling Quick for a 2-1 win in Los Angeles.

The Blackhawks are coming off a strong win against the Blue Jackets in their last game with Stalberg netting two goals and Crawford giving up only one goal for his second straight strong start. The Kings come into the UC following a victory against the Coyotes 4–3 and it was the highest output in goals for the Kings in over a month.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Either the bug is more prevalent than we thought and it's a tough game, or we go out with the same poise as the 1st 2 period last game and extend to 52 points.

Let's go hawks!

Stu is basically right, Scott will play LW and Pirri will take Krugers spot. Corey starts, OD stays in. Also keep in mind that the 2nd PP unit had Kruger on it, so with him out it is assumed Pirri will take that spot but I would think it will be a revolving door for the night, maybe Stalberg getting a shot.

When will Lepistö get a chance? Why don't they let him get some more games and see what he can do. He is basically fighting for the opportunity to stay in the NHL and that ought to make him give his best every game.

He really hasn't been very good in the games he has played in. He and O'Donell are pretty much on even keel and the tie breaker always goes to the vet. I don't disagree with giving players a fair shot though but at the same time guys like Lepsito who are fighting for spots need to show more than they have with the games they do get. It's not really fair but that's wha fighting for spots is all about. But who knows..maybe Lepsito has the flu also.

I too don't expect an overwhelmingly entertaining game tonight. If that flu bug is hitting a lot of players then I suspect it may be a long night. Kings have been my disappointment of the season thus far and they are beatable even with an unhealthy Hawks team. I don't think the Kings are 100% healthy either. Gagne is out with his 4th concussion (he should retire). Not sure how big of an impact Gagne is anyways but for a team that lacks any scoring depth a body missed is a body missed.

But yah i don't have a great feeling about the game either. Won't be shocked if the boys lose.

Craw with a great game despite the reverse shutout.

Quick stood on his head tonight.

How did John Scott get a penalty for having 3 guys jump him?

Lot of flat players tonight including Bickellberg and Frolikberg.

Defense played pretty good all things considered.

Kaner was snakebitten tonight.

I really liked the 3rd line in this game.

Jamal Mayer got on his horse like Big Buff in OT a couple years ago to beat the Rangers.... too bad Mayers

play didn't end the same way.

Great goalies tonight. Poor officiating and poor coaching by q. Brunette has to get off the top lines.

Ohhh frolik you are lucky 80 percent of this board is busy bashing the guy that shouldnt be getting bashed.

Quick was awsome. Crawford was also. Not really much can be said. Kane def looked ill. He was gassed at the end of every shift yet played a good game overall. Too bad q wastes the lw on his top line with brunette and frolik.

Both goalies played well.

When I got to the game I heard Kane had strep and his stamina looked very low. Plus his stickhandling which I would say is in the top 2 of the league (Datsyuk number 1) was terribly off.

Whole team seemed slow after the 1st.

Why does O'Donnell play? Seriously, he's too slow and his passing is brutal. I'd rather see Lepisto or even some kid from Rockford like Connelly. Get him off the team and onto the waiver wire.

Speaking of under-performing Dmen, does Keith know who his teammates are on the ice? The turnovers are brutal, and if I'm not mistaken, he made the bone-headed pass to a non-stick holding Toews. Plus his positioning is poor in the d-zone. Only thing that makes up for that is his fast acceleration, but that only gets him so far.

Montador was pinching quite a bit, at times leaving Leddy out to dry and they weren't quality "pinches" either.

Was watching this on the dvr and during a commercial break with about 9 to go in the first, I tried to skip the commercial but for some reason my unit when to 'live'. I got to see the Kings celebrate their win. I did not bother watching the rest of it. That's the first game I think I have missed. I suppose I chose a good one.

It was definitiely one to skip, unless you wanted to see Quick put on a clinic.

Actually I thought it was a great goalie game. BOTH goalies put on Clinics. Not sure EITHER of the Kings goals should have counted. Goal #1 Crawford was clearly interfered with. Much less has been called to disallow that type of goal. Goal #2 pretty clear slew foot on Leddy. IMO neither should have counted.

1st period the Hawks owned them several times, just couldn't bury one. 2nd two periods were strange, in just that style of aggressiveness hasn't been at the UC yet this year. Kings were almost too agressive IMO. A different officiating crew and that over agressiveness would result it many more PK's for them.

Hawks still had their PP chances and failed to delivery, although could have easily had 12 or more PP's over all. Nice high stick to Kane in the 3rd. Remind me why Scott got roughing in the first and Willie I started shit Mitchel got none? Scott was easily attacked by three different players at the same time. Clear as day.

Not sure why Q has #15 on the top line. It's bothersome. That line is built on speed and Skill. Brunette may still have some skill left, but no where near anything resembling speed. Thought Q splitting up the lines in the 3rd was ok. Taking Pirri off, adding Kane, and moving Hossa back with JT and #15.

Gonna have games like this. Come on hard on Friday your going to need it, because they are going too.

Oh, and that might have been some of the best goaltending I've ever seen from Crawford. Quick made some saves, but crawford was acrobatic in doing so. Specially the fleury in the 2nd. Holy shit!

This game reminded me of the loss we had at San Jose on the circus trip. Hawks played a pretty good game, just couldn't get one in the net. Never fun losing but games like this you just move on, no sense in thinking much about this one.

I felt the hawks played good enough for a win in normal circumstances, so I am not upset with the loss. When LA scored I was on my PC headset with my nephew and told him the game was over. He didn't believe saying there was plenty of time and it was only a goal but I knew that Quick wasn't letting in a goal last night. We had too many chances that were golden that never went and he had too many big saves.
