Steve Montador finally returned to the ice after suffering a concussion nearly one month ago. Although he has not joined the team in Detroit, he is skating in Chicago on his own terms. He has not appeared in any games since February 7th against the Colorado Avalanche.
Montador has missed 12 games due to the injury. While he's been gone, the Blackhawks have gone 6-6-0 in his absence. This season he has complied 5 goals and 9 assists in 51 games along with a plus-4 rating and 45 PIM.
Jonathan Toews still has not hit the ice since he was sidelined due to a concussion, but he is working out in Chicago. He has not appeared in any games since February 19th against the St. Louis Blues.
Missing 6 games due to the concussion, the Blackhawks have gone 3-3-0 without their captain. Toews has scored a team-leading 29 goals while adding 28 assists in 59 games along with a plus-17 rating.
Neither player has joined the team on their road trip and no timetable is set for either of them. However, Niklas Hjalmarsson is a possible card for Joel Quenneville tonight against the Detroit Red Wings.
