This is the ESPN story on Javier Baez! Wow just wow! I have no doubt this kid is going to make it. He is a fighter.

I just finished reading that before I came here.. Good read.

Glad he was still with Iowa when I went to the game last Friday. He was one of the main Cubs I wanted to see that would've been there. And to top if off, he hit an oppo moonshot in like the 2nd inning. That's probably the closest I will get to a "real" Cubs game haha

Does this amount to more than talking about his sister dying? I started reading it but it's pretty long and I tend to lose interest in stories that divulge into that. I can see why some find them compelling but for me I have never liked those sort of pieces.

Its a lot more than his sister dying. Its everything he went through to get to the show and why he swings like he does in the box. The piece is being praised all over the internet. Not just Cubs fans. He doesn't quit. The kid is tough as nails.
