Only nine days after the winning the Stanley Cup, Chicago Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman has already made two trades (<strong class='bbc'>Dave Bolland[/b] to Toronto, <strong class='bbc'>Michael Frolik [/b]to Winnipeg) and now completed his second signing of the summer by inking <strong class='bbc'>Nick Leddy[/b] to a two-year bridge contract (first was <strong class='bbc'>Bryan Bickell[/b]'s four year extension).
Leddy, 22, was set to become a restricted free agent (RFA) this summer. Over the past two seasons he had perfect attendance, appearing in 130 out of 130 regular-season games. He scored nine goals and added 46 assists (55 points), along with a plus-3 rating during that stretch.
Other details regarding his contract, such as the cap hit, are unknown at this time. Stay tuned.
<em class='bbc'>EDITORS NOTE — Leddy's cap hit will be $2.7 million per year according to CapGeek. In 2013-2014, Leddy will make $2 million, and in 2014-2015 that number will increase to $3.4 million.[/i]
