I know people here have jerseys signed and framed here, so I thought I'd ask.

I just got one myself last night in winning the raffle at yesterday's roadwatch in getting the Hossa signed jersey. There's no way in hell I'm selling it on E-bay like some guy who "had" my name ironically enough had tried to do to obtain it, so I decided then that I definitely want to frame it. (I had to show my state ID to show who I was. Apparently my own jersey wasn't proof enough.) This is my first real bit of Hawks memorabilia and I definitely treasure it, thats for sure.

Since I don't know anyone in regards to the actual framing process, though, are there any recommendations you can give on where to go for very good, reliable service and a great rate?

I can't help ya with the framing, but what an asshole for trying to scam your jersey. Did they at least kick the guy out?

Nah they didn't, unfortunately. They just booted him out of the way so I could get my picture taken with it.

The answer really comes down to cost.

You can go online and find some cheap framing kits for around $100.

To have one done professionally you are looking around $300-$400.

A professional frame will include you choosing a background and then

have the jersey stitched to the frame so that is never moves. All of my

framed jersey's are done this way. You can even include something

worthy of the Hawks with the jersey such as a picture with the player,

a ticket from a game, playoffs, etc.

Depending on were this season ends it may become a collectors item in

the future and if it were me I would not skimp on something cheap but

make it into something worth cherishing the rest of your life.

I'm glad you brought this up as I was about to myself. I'm going to have my Dad create a frame (Shadowbox?) for my jersey, was going to ask if anyone had some good do it yourself sites that I can give to him? He loves making frames and challenges and all that. He would love to figure out how to do this for me and make a nice box. Was even thinking about doing a double with 2 jerseys in one.

Actually this is what I was wanting to know. Thank you IHF for stating that. Now, I don't have a ticket from the playoffs seeing as I have never been to a game (Wish I did) nor have I met Marian before (Ive only met Seabs, Wiz when he was here, Buff, Hendry, Hammer and Burish), so I'm kinda screwed in that department.

Nevertheless, I definitely want this professionally done for the very reasons you stated. It is my first ever autographed jersey, thus I'll definitely want to preserve it for sure. Do you know anyone locally who is qualified enough for such a task?

Only here in Rockford.

Keep one thing in mind. The price you pay for the professional frame job only adds to the value which if you were to sell would always be worth at least that amount.

I bet someone on here has a season ticket playoff ticket to give to you to add to the frame of the jersey. Someone should be able to suggest a framing place closer to you as well.

You might want to try this man. He's very reasonable and stores jack up the prices for the same work.

R & R Custom framing.

He is located in Oswego IL

I will tell you this right now - It will never be sold. Ever.

Well, for starters I live in the city of Chicago and I don't drive... so it might be hard to actually find one here with a good reputation without jacking up the price... Price is definitely not going to be an issue for a change but I also certainly don't want to be forced to spend over $1,000+ dollars for the same job as for the price you described, IHF.

The lower, the better of course, but I'd want this job to be professionally done just as you described.

You see? That is what makes this site! Nice offer Tony.

Another suggestion is to go buy this years NHL Chicago Blackhawks Game Puck and have it mounted with the jersey. The Stanley Cup Playoff tickets are an awesome idea as well.

I have tickets from all the rounds. You can have them if you want. Put all 4 rounds in there and it will look sharp.

You guys are totally rocking it! I love all those ideas thus far, thats for sure!!!! That Hossa OT game would certainly be something cause I definitely saw that puppy on tv, so I remember it quite well. But its also tempting to get all 4 rounds worth if we get that far... Choices, choices...

As we have already discussed, spending a little bit extra to have something professionally done is worth it over the years. Here are a few examples;

Speaking of displaying Stanley Cup Playoff tickets, had this made after last season signed by whole team
