Hawks host Coyotes in game five at the UC. The Hawks are facing a must win against the Coyotes who hold a 2 to 1 lead in the best of seven and will enter game 4 without Hossa who is recovering from an upper body injury after taking a dirty hit to the head by Raffi Torres. Torres has been suspended indefinitely until his hearing with the League’s Office on Friday.

Rookie Brandon Saad will replace Hossa in the lineup and playoff veterans Toews, Kane and Sharp will have to pick it up an extra notch to fill Hossa’s void and the bottom four blue liners will have to pick their game up also with limiting their turnovers in the Dzone.

Prediction: Hawks 4 - 1

I just hope Crawford has forgot about the game winning goal in game 4 and its not in his head. Not that he was the only one who can be finger pointed on that goal.

i have a good feeling for this one. I think the Hawks playing desperate and motivated by a fallen team mate brings the best out of them. Toews will be huge.

Hawks better bury these mother *******. If nothing else, and regardless of how far they go in the playoffs, they need to end Phoenix' season now.

I hope so too. I was hoping that would happen in the 2nd and 3rd period Tues. too though.

I wasn't shocked by the flow of the game in the 2nd period though. It looked like both teams were a bit melancholy after what happened to Hossa. We can sit here and say the opposition never cares when someone they are playing against gets wheeled off in a stretcher. Not everyone on the Yotes are thoughtless assholes like Torres (Im sure he felt no regret). The pace of the game in that second period was touchy for a lack of better words. Third period was a different story it was strange how the emotions changed through out that game.

It was hard to watch as a fan to be honest. Much of the game I wasn't really caring much about the outcome. I was totally worried about Hossa. When positive words started coming back about him that changed I was back into the game and wanting the win.

same here TCD. Up until the third period I had a lot less interest in the game. Emma was so upset about the hit (She's a HUGE Hossa fan and after the hit she yelled "He has a baby you asshole!") Just left for 10 minutes and started to do dishes (not like I'm complaining, I'm actually happy the dishes were done)

Please do a repeat of game 4 in the 2011 Vancouver series, also the game after a dirty hit by Torres. In fact I hope the Hawks repeat what they did against Vancouver last year all over and this time 3 wins will be enough.

I have no idea on the outcome. I wish I seen a bit more fire under their asses. You look at the Pittsburgh/Philly game those teams are playing with fire. Defensively and in net they are both useless but that's a diff discussion. The hawks to me look apathetic towards the playoffs. After playing so hard to get here they now look like they think "Meh we got to the playoffs whateves"

I would love to see them play with some give a damn since if they did, they would slaughter the Yotes. And yes the rookies are playing their asses off just the vets seem not terribly into it.

Its moments like this that you come together and channel your inner most hatered towards the opposition and take it all out on the ice. I am sure Q told that to his troops yesterday and today. Hossa hit should be played right after the anthem on the big screen then followed by Torres' smirk on the bench followed by the comments from their GM about its not like Torres killed a bunch of school kids. Just so they know what they are playing for, then come out and swallow them......inside joke on that one.

you don't play images of players getting hurt on the jumbo tron. I know that rule is typically for during the game it happened, but still.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Statement game: All of the team's anger and frustration should be focused and channelled into winning. On the offensive side, Smith needs to see more rubber than Snooki's ****. On the Defensive side of the game, Craford needs to play like there's no D in front of him, and the D needs to play like there's no net minder behind them.

Officiating and any percived league bias needs to be a wash; The 'hawks need to come out hungry and need to win by any means necessary. Play to win, not pulling themselves out of position for the retaliatory hits.

Even prior to Hossa getting hurt I had felt like they had come out flat in game three. I hope not this time around.
