NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. -- New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was questioned by police investigating a possible homicide in this town 40 miles south of Boston. A source with knowledge of the investigation said Massachusetts State police spoke to Hernandez on Monday and were interested in possibly searching his home.
Hernandez is not believed to be a murder suspect, according to a source, but a vehicle rented in his name has emerged as a key piece of evidence in the investigation. The Sun Chronicle of Attleboro, Mass., reported on Tuesday that police identified a rented 2013 Chevrolet Suburban with Rhode Island license plates in connection with the possible homicide. According to the paper, the vehicle is registered to Enterprise and investigators were hoping to analyze it for fingerprints. A source said Hernandez's name is tied to that rental vehicle.
A jogger found the body of a 27-year-old Boston man on Monday in an North Attleboro clearing, less than a mile from Hernandez's home.

Jeesh, if he is suspended at all for any of this, the Patriots are down Welker (Broncos), Gronk (a broken, surgery-prone ex-terminator) and now Hernandez. That is A LOT of missing offense. It truly will be on B&B to work their magic.

Report: Aaron Hernandez 'not ruled out as a suspect' in homicide case
By Will Brinson | NFL Writer
June 19, 2013 12:23 pm ET

WBZ-TV in Boston reported Wednesday that, according to a law enforcement source, Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez "has not been ruled out as a suspect" in a homicide case near his home. Hernandez is connected to the case through a vehicle rented in his name that is reportedly a key piece of evidence, according to SI.com. An ABC News report said Hernandez was initially uncooperative with police.

Let's get this out of the way first: When you hear things like "uncooperative" and "not been ruled out as a suspect" being used by the media, please, please, please take a breath, grab your salt shaker and think rationally.

That's not to question the reports. It's simply to point out that the phrase "uncooperative" when describing someone mentioned in a homicide investigation can mean many things. To wit: uncooperative could mean Hernandez hired a lawyer. It could mean he didn't let police search his home without a warrant. It could mean he's stonewalling them. It could mean lots of things.

So could "not been ruled out as a suspect" -- that phrase sounds like "considered a suspect" to many people. But it simply means Hernandez, because of his proximity to the victim and his name on a rental car cannot be considered not a suspect at this time.

Having said all of that, none of this is great news for Hernandez. Being questioned in a homicide case generally never is.

Being reported as "uncooperative" while questioned in a homicide case and then reportedly deemed "not ruled out as a suspect" ... these are phrases we hear on CSI: Miami and Law & Order right before the cops catch the person responsible for the crime. But that's not real life.

Just remember that when you hear stuff like this being spun out there.

Report: Aaron Hernandez to be sued for allegedly shooting man in face

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/e...andez-to-be-sued-for-shooting-man-in-the-face

Hernandez and Bradley left the club in the same car, where the argument continued. At some point during the car ride, Hernandez allegedly aimed a gun at Bradley and the gun discharged, hitting Bradley in the face, according to the report.

Bradley claims to have suffered several injuries, including the loss of his right eye. The lawsuit also claims Bradley has had to undergo major reconstructive surgery to his face. Bradley is seeking more than $100,000 in damages.

Two points:
1) seems like a low amount for being shot in the face and losing an eye.
2) How was this not in the news before now?

A gun can't discharge with a finger on the trigger....assuming that is just a fancy lawyer term?

Wonder who he killed?

I had the same reaction. I also wondered if the killing is somehow related to this earlier incident. Either way it seems like his career could be short lived.

Patriots may be looking at no Gronk, no Hernandez, and definitely no Welker. Should be interesting.
