I've never seen a turndown before on one of those. I always assumed half the time one of those public proposals happen the girl says no when they come back home. But the pressure to say yes with all those people is huge. Seems like an insecure way to propose.

The audio wouldn't work for me so I didn't hear anything that was said. I feel bad for him but there are so many factors that we don't really know.

Strictly by the video, we don't know that she said no. It seems like she said "Are you joking?" and he replies "No." She may have just been overwhelmed by the attention and couldn't help but get up and leave. She might still want to marry the guy. Who knows. However, in any case the dude needs to plan a little better if he was for real. A college basketball game? Really? Little girls don't grow up dreaming of prince charming getting on one knee at a college basketball game.

It happened at the UC at one of the Hawks games- but there weren't many people to witness it. Anyone remember the really old dude that asked that really hot, young blonde to marry him? She basically did the same thing. Later on during the "kiss cam," the UC focused on them-- he tried planting one on her, and she wanted nothing to do with him.

Somebody proposed to someone at the UC the other night behind Chris Boden and they showed it.

I know this much...Miška would have killed me if I popped the question in public.

I've seen a couple of these high-profile proposals explode in the man's face before...almost like it's a ratings thing. At first, everyone wanted to see "the guy declaring his undying love in front of everyone", then they wanted to see the trainwreck of him being completely pw3nd before the world.

I hate to wax romantic, but it seems like the whole thing is about the spectacle, not the true moment at that point and really, what marriage would last based on something that superficial?
