More "experts" that are going to be wrong. Gotta love it.

They ought to just put the Hawks and Bolts, to your chagrin, in the finals. No need to play the games.

The Toronto Maple Leafs laugh at this from the golf course.

I don't quite understand this individual's point. Does he have some sort of mental disability? Or live in an alternate reality where the Leafs are actually doing "just fine?"

CORS is the advanced analytical stats that almost all NHL teams. I say 'almost all' because the Toronto Maple Leafs are vehemently against this as an organization. Plus they suck.

I know what CORSI is, but didn't know the Leafs were "anti-stats" and proud of it. It's clearly working out well for them...

Steve Simmons is the epitome of all morons in the Canadian hockey media that cling to antiquated beliefs about what wins hockey games. Notice the timestamps on that tweet: it's from early in the 2013-14 season, when the Leafs were faring quite well in the standings. But all of the advanced statistics indicated that the Leafs were barely getting by thanks to their goalies playing at unsustainable levels and were due for a collapse. When their goalies play regressed, the Leafs fell and they fell hard. Still haven't recovered, really.

That tweet is basically the hockey equivalent of someone from Chicago tweeting about the effectiveness of "Bear Weather."

What's Kevin Haye's CORSI rating? He looked pretty amazing today. It's gonna be funny if we end up playing the Rangers in the finals. Do you think Q will regret letting him walk?

You're asking a question that has no resemblance to anything that could of happened at any point.

Well good thing for Toronto's sake is I'm pretty sure Shanahan fired everybody involved with the team and is building his own system.. if his leadership is anywhere like his leadership of the Discipline Committee, Tonronto will continue to be a inconsistent mess

Hawks organization is so fucked up. Not only did they let Kevin Hayes walk... they also let his older brother Jimmy Hayes walk. Both big, physical, wingers with a knack for scoring.

But hey... got to tie up 25% of your cap with two players. Stupid fucking Hawks.

you trying to troll me with double posts?

No, the site trolled me by proclaiming I was "leaving the page" to make a post and saying no then yes somehow resulted in two posts.

Q had no connection to dealing with Kayes.

Kevin Hayes chose to stay in the North East, where he is from and where played college with a team with a looser depth system and more guaranteed opening in cap and playing time. The Hawks didn't have a choice of the matter really. It's not like they turned Hayes down last year or passed on him. It's not even like, some people speculated and trading Jimmy matter, if he went to Florida where Kevin also would of had playing time practically guaranteed, it would of occurred.

Sure Panarin may not get you hard but Kyle Braun could. Or if they snag Thikonov or Mike Reilly who they also may be able to snag this summer as FAs may bring back more. Losing Kayes was a situational loss due to a rule of play, but they may get lucky to not have it be a hamper still.

The Hawks don't have anyone in their farm system named "Braun"... who are you referring to?

I think Toronto may actually be heading in the right direction now. Shanahan and some of his other front office acquisitions reportedly embrace the idea of advanced statistics in hockey.
