I was actually there this afternoon. My friend and I went there for lunch.

No sure what udon soup is.... but we had soup with our meal. Kinda tasted like chicken broth

Udon is just a type of thicker, slightly chewy noodle.

I heard it's a little shabby but pretty cool, how was it?

Did you check out the burger restaurant?

Tomorrow I'm grabbing Miso paste, Mirin and a large bottle of Tamari. Beyond that who knows, but I have to get the basics. I also might get one of these to throw in some ramen:

It is kinda shabby, with everything kinda thrown together, but not too bad.

Didn't check out the burger joint, my friend wanted me to try some Japanese food. I forget the name of it, but it was pretty good.

Its pretty neat. Cool seeing a bunch of food you really cant find anywhere else. My two year old daughter loved it, sampled lots of strange new things! I got some real soy sauce, mirin, and some other japanese staples, some really funky mushrooms, a fish sausage, daikon, dried seaweed, and an overall quality experience. It was like my first trip to a gun store-overwhelming, foreign and full of minorities with very little manners.

I like Japanese grub a lot.

Simple ingredient, very complex prep and composition. Im learning alot today. Making soyu ramen from scratch is laborious as ****.

Please share any recipes and lessons learned. I like making noodles but have never tried ramen sized. Rice flour?

buy the noodles. Put all the effort into the broth, that alone takes at least 4 hours. I will share the details on that later when im done with a little plumbing project. Fml!
