I took a stab at Utah and Colorado.



My second guess would be Kansas and Missouri.

I beleive Texas has fought with Louisiana over borders while both were territories of Spain/France Mexico/France

In this grouping, it was Ohio and Michigan. Ohio got what the wanted, but to appease Michigan, that is how Michigan got the upper peninsula
