Good shit! Hope these guys keep performing and hit the bigs on fire. And make Puig look like Brent Lillibridge. We have some talented dude coming up that I am excited to see together in Wrigley.

I don't think Almora will. They seem to want to take it a little slower with him.

It's because of his age, but if they want to take their time with him, take your time with him at AA - saw him play w Kane County last year and he's the real deal - just the way the ball jumps off his bat makes you realize he's a cut above the other stiffs he's playing with at that level. Kid needs to go up against competition that matches his skill level just so he doesn't get bored or get into bad, lazy habits. Keep him sharp going up against good competition.

That's why he will go to Daytona and play with Volgy for the first couple of months. Kane is low A. Daytona is high A. He will most likely end the year in AA if there are no setbacks. Bryant and Soler will start in AA with them moving to AAA as soon as they show they can dominate AA. Baez, Villanueva, and most likely Alcantara will start in AAA.

What I expect:

CF
MLB Lake or Sweeney depending on if they trade Schierholtz out which pushes Sweeney to RF.
AAA: Matt Szczur
AA: Zeke DeVoss
A+: Almora

DeVoss will be shifted around for Almora's progression. what is keeping him in the system is his SH/ and he pulled 80 BB in 415 AB's and stole 39 bases. I believe he most likely never make it as a major league talent but he has some intangibles to keep in the mix.

I would like to see Matt Szczur get a chance to compete for a roster spot during spring training.

Szczur has to be getting close to out of options at Minor League level. Remember he signed a 40 man roster spot out of college

I would give it to Lake this year and if Lake fails then promote Szczur.

He didn't get a 40 man roster spot out of college, but he had to be added to the 40 man roster sooner than normal due to his contract. According to AZ Phil, he qualifies for a fourth option year and will have two more after this season. Either way the odds of him being a difference maker are pretty low at this point.

Everything I've read suggest he's at best a 4th outfielder. If they were to trade Schierholtz I could potentially see him making the roster out of ST. But, until then you have Lake, Sweeney and Schierholtz who seem to be all but locks to break camp. Presumably you'd then get a bat to platoon with Schierholtz and potentially one other guy.

People believe he is a major league player but just not impact but that's depends to me. He has blazing speed with better than average to plus d. He gets talked down because he never got the power they expected. His OBP has risen a lot and with his speed could be a solid major league player for years

I don't want them to rush kids who aren't ready, but I have to think Baez and Bryant see the majors next year. Maybe they want to give Baez more time, which would be OK. But Bryant has 4 years of college and a season of minor league ball, hitting everything. I don't see why he would not be up in 2014.
