It took a heartbreaking series where the Heat destroyed my dreams for this year, to realized that in the end, I shouldn't hate James for what he did.

As you can see by the title of this thread, I respect James so much more now. And it's not because of the huge shots he hit in this series.

I despised James heading into this season for the move he made, teaming up with Wade and Dinosaur. But, after this series, I have seen the light and changed my mind.

Is Rose really that much different from where James was in Cleveland. In Cleveland, James had a decent supporting cast, but he had to basically do it all himself and it was just too much in the postseason.

Now, take that sentence and replace Cleveland with Chicago and James with Rose. It's the same thing. This series has made us realize Rose needs a much better supporting cast to help lead us to the promise land.

The only difference with James, is that it took him 7 years to realize that. James took the necessary means to make himself a championship contender, so the Bulls organization must do the same, that way Rose doesn't hopefully do that to us.

Count me in. The "Decision" was stupid, but as a player he'll be one of the all time greats.

I respect LeBron James now too. After watching him for this series, he completely outplayed our MVP in every regard. He was a better defender, was more clutch, didn't turn the ball over, and most importantly, played unselfishly. LeBron always had the rep as being a mix between MJ and Magic Johnson. He had MJ's ability to impose his will to score, but Magic's unselfishness and passing vision.
LeBron could easily score 50 pt a game against us, but he was making play after play for his teammates with great passes, getting guys like Bosh and Mike Miller wide open shots. In contrast, Derrick was too selfish trying to win the game by himself. If the Heat go on to win the title, I hope this series loss pains Derrick enough to realize he needs to be a better player all-around.

Most of the country would not have harped him for leaving Cleveland. Most thought he should leave Cleveland because they were never going to get him a supporting cast. It was the way he did it and the way he did it to Cleveland that pissed everyone off. "The Decision" was one of the stupidest things he could have done. It was the most douchiest thing he could have done. Plain and simple. That is what most people hate out of this whole thing.

I agree that James was an idiot with "The Decision" and so much drama, but take all that way, and his decision was gold. I can't hate on him for that. He's a damn good player and completely outplayed our whole team.

I'm not a big NBA fan but James has been my favorite NBA player ever since he was drafted. "The Decision" the tv show was stupid, but the decision itself to go to Miami I had no problem with. I really want him to win a ring just to shut people up. He's performed pretty well for a guy labeled "Robin" and "Scottie Pippen" lol.

I will never respect LeBron James.

Sure he's a great player, but I have no respect for him. He played like a chump at times, flopping around, whining about calls, etc. The only person I saw throwing a tantrum about bad calls...was us (and Boozer, but he's a chump too ;)), however anytime LeBron was bumped....arms in the air, lady parts exposed.

Amazing, talented player. However I will never respect him. I already had a shitty impression of him from that Cleveland South Beach spectacle on ESPN.

I have shown my respect over the past year...and its grown since the playoff series with the Bulls. Lebron took over the series and manhandled everybody. He destroyed the Bulls and
embarrassed Rose by outplaying him on both sides of the court.

I can't be a hypocrite...wanting him to come here last year and now loathing him this year because he went to Miami...he is still the great player he has been most of his career...except he is even better. I have to give honor where honor is due. I don't think he is the greatest ever. But RIGHT NOW...I will say he is the greatest SF whom ever lived....

Face the facts gentlemen...

He has talent. So what. He's not worthy of my respect. On or off the court.

do i think he's the best player in the league? yes

do i respect him? no

i feel that respect is more on a personal level and he absolutely has not earned it for me. whether it's the dancing or discounting the mvp or the fooling around or the whining for calls, he just doesn't do it for me. i don't think it's his fault, i think that's what you'd become if people kissed your ass since middle school, but i think that puts into perspective how great derrick rose is that he had all that and still manages to put everything into perspective. i mean damn, the man is the best finisher as a point guard perhaps in the history of the league, and all he talks about is what he could do better.

again, lebron is the best in the world but he has not earned my respect.
