Bulls are very committed to a ceiling of mediocrity and a floor of misery. Strap in for a decade of sadness and despair

What is it with these secret extensions? I feel we're going find out shortly that both Vuc and DeMar received one.

They know its the wrong move, but loyalty trumps all.

I feel like it's a Chicago thing. I don't think Pedro Grifol or Matt Eberflus' deals are public either.

Actually you may be right, I don't remember ever hearing about what deals GarPax had with the organization.

The coach one with Donovan last year is the weird one though, usually you don't secretly extend your coach.

I think there are many coaches whose salaries aren't made public. So I'm not sure that's really a Chicago thing.

"NFL franchises are not public institutions, and thus their coaches' salaries are not subjected to being FOIA'd like their college counterparts. There is no salary cap for coaches, either, so owners that are significantly underpaying have every incentive to keep that information private."

"Unlike salaries of NBA players, staff salaries aren’t as widely reported or available"

What I got when I tried searching coaches salaries.

We can find some of them, but even then, sometimes it's a ballpark. I saw an article once that said it is "believed" that Bill Belichick makes "around" 20 million a year. But nobody knows for sure.

I’d try to keep it a secret too. It was a batshit crazy decision to extend BD after that season

Good post, good information.

Maybe I just feel like I’ve heard the numbers before.

lol ridiculous...i dont think the bulls return to greatness until the bulls are sold to someone else who's willing to do what it takes. Reinsdorf has said on more than one occasion that he cares more about baseball than basketball which is really saying something because the sox suck something awful too...

Since there is no tweet about ME my assumption is AK will throw ME into the fire for this shitshow of a team...

I guess it's true that you don't really hear about FO contracts. The secret Billy extension is still weird though. I mean we still don't even know how long the extension is for? I'm guessing 3 years.

Yeah I don't agree there is anything normal about hiding major transactions from a media sports market as large as Chicago.

These White Sox/Bulls signings are trash and I actually like Donovan.

They should be celebrated actions not hidden to prevent despair.

Meanwhile how is the Texas Rangers manager doing with half the talent? We didn't even interview the hall of fame manager?
I think something might also be said that our previous hall of fame manager renowned for his management of pitching staffs was helping the pitching staff more than it appeared.

I think as with the other Chicago teams, the only way to have hope for the future is to win the #1 pick in the draft. Last era of Bulls success was predicated from that, we will likely see it now with the Bears and Blackhawks as well. Problem is this franchise can't even tank properly so it'll take some really serious luck to get that #1 pick in the next decade.

Bulls are, as the kids say these days, a poverty franchise...or at least they act like one
