Lol, explain how the Bears wanted to meet with him sooner AND then they decided to meet with him much later

I know what the report states happened, but make it make sense...?
You are overthinking here. He doesn’t want to travel while prepping for pro day. That’s it. Bears agreed. They want medical and more sit down time to “mesh with coaches”, but unless something popped up, the dude never had concerning injuries in 38 games. Bears have probably have 80-90% of the info they need from him.

"Until this weekend, the Bears had planned to bring USC Trojans QB Caleb Williams to Chicago for his top 30 visit Tuesday, fresh off the combine. That is extraordinarily early—most teams don’t even start with 30 visits until the end of March or beginning of April when pro days are wrapping up."

The Bears were the outlier here hence why they accommodated Williams when he asked to stick to normal process. Bears fans love to ****.

Him AND the Bears changed it. But keep making up scenarios in your brain
Williams said he wouldn't meet with the Bears again until AFTER his pro day. He's calling all the shots. I think the Bears were trying to expedite the process and he shot it down. He is still giving me the impression he doesn't want to play for Chicago. I think Poles also needs to know what to do about Fields. But I do find it unusual that Williams wouldn't do medicals... If I am healthy and my tests will all be clean why prolong?

I haven’t gotten that impression once.

It's not in what he has said. More like how he has said it... I can tell by his demeanor. I am reading him like a book and I don't think that guy wants anything to do with the Bears. I think he and Carl will lobby for a trade out if the Bears draft him.

I put the chances of that happening at close to 0%.

Sorry, I'm not a flat earther. I'm a realist... There are a lot of red flags but the Cult of Caleb ignores them. I think the kid has all the football talent to play the game at the NFL level. His head is not in it. I don't think his heart is in it. I might be wrong but something is off.

Reading him like a book, eh? lmao. I think we can all concede that it is probably not his first choice, but if he really wants to dominate, and make a lot of money in the process then there really is no market that would be better than Chicago. 3rd largest market, legions of fans just waiting for it to happen. As far as the organization, they may learn that just getting out of their own way may be the path of least resistance. They should take advantage of this opportunity, and maybe the Bears can get back to winning.

So the Bears wanted to meet with him immediately for a private visit and he said no because he has to put on a pro day exhibition for all the other teams to see him...?

Make it make sense.

Something is fishy about that.

Would it really take too much out of his time to fly to Chicago for a couple days that it would interrupt is preparation for basically nothing 2 weeks later?

CT: I think there was weed involved after the season was over and he has to let his blood clear up. That's why he didn't do medicals at the combine and is still delaying them.

Possibly. They only test once a year before training camp once you are in the league, right? They probably do that for rookies before the draft.

That was my first thoughts when he refused the medicals.. That or he has some kind of health condition that isn't public knowledge that he doesn't want out there yet.. something genetic or cardiovascular related. Some of these players have these genetic conditions pop up during the combine and it could be he lives with a condition that he hasn't publicly disclosed yet.

Didn't even consider the weed angle, certainly a possibility conspiracy theory or not.

You can flush weed out in 24 hrs now days. It's not a big deal.

Yeah they changed in '20. They also allow a higher amount.

Used to be 10 random players per team every week during the season.
