surprised we haven't heard an official statement from Izzo stating that he is NOT interested in the Cavs job. That leads me to believe the following:

He is on the phone with James, trying to feel out what it's gonna take to keep James in Cleveland. I think if Izzo takes the job, then it's almost assured that James is staying. If he doesn't, James is probably gone.

Seems like we can learn a lot once Izzo makes his decision.

I think you're 100% right. Also, the longer Izzo doesn't make an official statement, the more I'm inclined to believe he will accept and James will stay.

Its possible that Gilbert is getting feedback but a lot of people are ardently saying LeBron doesnt want to be involved in picking the coach. If thats true, then nothings a given. Gilbert might be making this hire thinking, "screw it...I may lose LeBron so Im going to go after my most favorite coach in the world who coaches my school."

It seems like these hires might be made not on the basis that LeBron affirms to play for any of them but rather, on the basis that he wouldnt NOT play for them.

Izzo is NOT taking the job unless he knows Lebron is playing for the Cavs.

agreed, completely. Izzo's got too much to lose. On top of being a walking legend @ Mich. St., he's got a top 5 team next season. He's only going to make the jump if he thinks his team will contend for a championship immediately.

There was a rumor he was interviewing with the Bulls. Was this ever confirmed or denied?

I heard the rumor, but never heard anything came of it. My guess is someone heard that Izzo was being courted by an NBA team and speculation got the Bulls involved.

Izzo is not leaving, maybe if LeBron resigns but even then I doubt he would leave East Lansing.
