The past few days I've had some really bad allergies, it started off Sunday.

I went to my little cousins birthday party, and we were outside all day, I felt fine so we played soccer and practically rolled in the grass all day.

The next day I was sick, cold like symptoms. I just figured it was really bad allergies (usually I never get them in Fall, rarely I get them in the spring but this year I didn't)... anyway, the following day the cold like symptoms seemed to disappear but I had a shortness of breath that I just figured may have been a small virus I needed to get over. The next day I experienced the same symptoms, but decided to go for a walk/light jog for some fresh air. After returning I really had trouble breathing, started sweating, itching, and bursting into hives.

I contacted my doctor, he prescribed this pack of meds that kills basically everything in the body, and an inhaler but I received the treatment nearly 3 hours later.

Today, I woke up and I almost feel 100% normal, I have a slight shortness of breath but nothing like I experienced the first few days.

What could possibly be wrong? I don't think its bronchitis, although I've never had it before, I don't think it would come and go that quickly. Secondly, it could be allergies, but I've never experienced allergies that have effected my lungs... the third option makes most sense to me, it has to be adult asthma...

Anyone have any experiences like this? What should I expect? Any other thoughts?

I'm no doctor, but anything involving breathing is serious. Wouldn't do anything strenuous until I knew the real deal.

How does that line from Braveheart go...."I talked to the Lord, says I'm safe, looks like you're fooked." (You try typing in an Irish accent)

Hun, I think there is something in the air. I have been having problems the last few days too. I had wheezing and stuff. Maybe you have Hay Fever. This is the time of year when I first got asthma. I have always had respiratory problems since I was a baby, but was never diagnosed with asthma till I was a junior in high school. I had been sick for at least a week in late August and when I went to the doctor he said I had asthmatic bronchitis which eventually turned into double pneumonia. Ever since then I had to use inhalers.

Seeing as we don't have any board certified MDs here I'd stick with the professionals advice.

See your Doc at his clinic and get evaluated.

Edit: Or see if you can get El Cid to put his balls on it....

I'm pretty sure I'm a certified doctor on this board.

Doctor of "Man Sex" doesn't really count... well, maybe for Ton it does, but still...

Now we're getting somewhere. Cid hasn't cured anything with his balls in quite some time (well, at least that we know about).

I'm voting toward asthma from the way it sounds. I've had both, as a matter of fact the time I did have asthma, the doc said it was allergy induced for whatever that's worth.

Still a doctor!

On a side note, it always cracks me up when you are talking to a doctor somewhere and don't address them as doctor and they correct you because they like the superiority complex. The whole... I went to college for 7 years so I earned it shit... I especially love it when they aren't a MD but a PhD doctor or whatever.

So I went yesterday, prescribed me an inhaler as well as claritin, and took some blood. I have to go back in and do this breathing test though (I forget what its called), which will find out my lung capacity and a bunch of other crap, as well as figuring out if I have asthma. Not sure what they really do during it, but whatever.

I know there might not be any doctors on the boards but since it was later at night, and the office was closed, I just wanted to see if anyone else had a similar reaction.

Just a note on claritin, it works for some, but it's one of the weaker non-drowsy antihistamines. If you take it and you're still having allergy problems I'd try Zyrtec (or the generic version) next. Still considered non-drowsy, but it's a little stronger than Claritin.
