Amon Tobin ISAM tour

Not sure if many here even know who Amon Tobin is, but he's put together what is supposed to be one of the best live show experiences ever. His music is definitely abstract by itself, but with the visuals they put together for the show it looks absolutely amazing. It's been called groundbreaking by many in the music industry. I've got tickets to the show at the Congress Theater on the 21st.

It looks badass and all, especially the fan clip, but am I wrong in thinking it just looks like they are using the big white set as a video screen and projecting really cool graphics onto it... I know it's more complicated than that, but it doesn't seem as monumental as some of those poeple make it out to be. Am I missing something that is going on here? I went to the new The Wall performance, and they did a lot of this and then some...

It's a 3 dimensional screen. There are bunch of boxes stacked in different configurations and they had to use 3 dimensional mapping to project on the different boxes. Its extremely difficult to put that all together. It's not like projecting onto a flat object.

That came out wrong I think. This is very impressive and looks badass, should be a hell of a show.

Looking at some of the youtubes it does indeed look like a badass show, especially if one would be inclined to enjoy some herbal enhancement. Too bad it doesn't seem he's visiting my corner of the world.
