This kid is playing lights out in the Summer league. I know it's only the Summer league but he has dropped 26 and 31 points respectively over the last two games.

The kid is known for being a great shooter but he is not a PG and too small for the shooting guard position.

I still think it would be a mistake not to sign him as he could at least play the role of Dequan Cook.

As a min contract guy I have no problems signing him. Too bad he's not quite good enough to be like Nate.

It's not a total fluke. Dude is getting better as a basketball player.

MVP of D-League -- Which in turn earned him a call-up by the Lakers to plug in minutes while Kobe was out. He plays 4 games, 3 of which are in the playoffs.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/g/goudean01/gamelog/2013/ A few very respectable performances in those 4 games, but the Lakers had to shed everything that wasn't guaranteed.

The Bulls pick him up for SL, he winds up going against more D-Leaguers in SL, puts up two outstanding SL games.

Any NBA team can sign him when SL is over, but we are the only team that can offer a contract to him for now. So that begs the question. What is he asking for? He's going to get picked up by someone. Does he want a guaranteed contract for the minimum to sign on, or does he want more, and if so, how much more?

OK I can get on board signing him so long as you realize he's in the Dequan Cook category and people don't act like he should be right behind Butler off the bench. At this point he's a poor man's Ben Gordon, too small for a big minutes at the 2 and not enough of a ball handler for time at the point. He could be at the end of the bench to come in when the offense is stuck and we're way behind and need to load up threes.

What people need to see is, there are 29 other teams that aren't breaking down this guy's door, the Bulls shouldn't be alone in their thinking that this guy is an answer. Look at Nate Robinson, still unsigned and probably not going to get nearly as much as he thought or as long a deal as he wanted. In this era of the cap and tax players with limited games are not as valuable as the one aspect of their game would have been.

I think everyone in this thread agrees with you.

I myself would have to see more, but one of those 29 other teams will give Goudelock a chance IMO. His performances are very much like that of Neal's yeas ago in Summer League.

Is there any word if Goudelock was given a workout with the Bulls prior to Summer League? I'd be curious how the Bulls viewed Goudelock coming into SL.

In all seriousness. Sign him up. The Bulls depth at SG/PG sucks.

Pretty much carrying our Summer League Team, I don't see why we wouldn't keep him. I liked Goudelock with the Lakers when they actually played him, could be a good spark off the bench to help replace Nate!

This. Scoring (especially perimeter scoring) is something this team severely needs, and he could be a cheap temporary solution at a position that lacks depth.

Technically it's only the SG depth that sucks. We have 3 PGs on the roster. Either way, signing him wouldn't hurt at all.

There is no harm in signing him. The Bulls can carry 15 players and I don't think they are in any real danger of running out of spots. He is limited. He has very limited passing and little to no left had. Almost everything he does off the dribble is the right.

He can catch and shoot. The truth is there are a lot of guys who can catch and shoot at his size.

Eddie House made a nice career for himself. Maybe he can be an eddies house type. He would have to significantly improve his ball handling and passing to get to Jason Terry status.

Drew on the Bulls

He says he wanted to play with the Bulls summer league team because he feels he can help the team and has appreciated the Bulls interest.

“Those guys have steadily shown interest. Since I’ve been in the D-league, they’ve been calling, calling,” said Goudelock. “When things started happening for me with the Lakers, they were calling, asking questions, always kind of interested. It seemed the best fit for me, especially with these guys losing Nate (Robinson), Rip (Hamilton). (Marco) Belinelli left, Daequan Cook left. Those are all guard positions and I feel I can step in and fill one of those positions.

so he wants to be here...no reason he shouldnt make the roster unless nate decides to stay which is unlikely
