With a QB like Fields that has all the arm strength you need, great footwork really helps his repeatable accuracy, which he struggled with last year.

It can also help with timing, because once you hit the back of your drop you know you have to let it go.

Fields has alot to learn to attempt to master his craft.

This is not an offseason fix btw. He will revert to what his body has been doing for years when under pressure

That is certainly possible it not to the level of certainty you appear to be suggesting.

And when techniques fail your body resorts to what it knows

Of course but we have no idea how quickly the can reset that muscle memory. Some guys can do that faster than others
it’s not going to be fixed in an offseason I think is reasonable

"Footwork is everything, it's more than arm talent more than what you can do athletically. Footwork is EVERYTHING."

you boyz have been down this road before . . . duh

“Jeff worked to improve my footwork, which immediately improved my accuracy,” said Cousins.

Reasonable yes. Certain no.
I’m sorry you don’t understand kinesiology. I never said certain, he will resort to what his body knows when techniques break down that across any sport

Footwork doesn’t fix protecting the ball or missing the wide open guy with a busted coverage over the top because he wasn’t the guy the throw was supposed to go to.

Under pressure, and not just the football kind, a person will not rise to expectations; they will fall to the highest level of training.

If Justin Fields is a quick study he will maintain his footwork and quick release. Its up to Justin Fields and the people working with him.

Never said overthrow.

Alluded to him missing wide open Allen Robinson because ‘it was a naked and the ball wasn’t supposed to go to him.’

That could have been Nagy. I remember Mitch saying something similar at one point
