He was believed to be over a 100 years old. I imagine he was very lonely being the only one of his kind left. It's a shame to see this magnificent creature perish. RIP George.

I saw something about that yesterday. They used to show clips of him on news. He didn't do much, although I guess that's normal for a turtle. I guess his kind of turtles wasn't meant to survive.

He was the last of his kind. The species bit the dust when the last female died really. They've been trying to mate him with other Galapogus tortuises without success. Darwin wins again.
