the infinity engine games(baldurs gate, PS:T, etc.) are real time with pause, not turn based per say. but definitely give BG2 and Planescape torment a go. also might and magic 6 and divine divinity(action rpg, not turn based). those are, imo, the four greatest rpgs ive played so far.just be prepared to possibly hate BG2 at first because the learning curve can be steep and youll likely get your ass handed to you early on.

oh, and the kotor games are damn good.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. Golden State Warriors
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Kotor series is probably one of the best RPGs out there imo. If you play Kotor 2, play it with the restored content mod...fixes stuff they didn't include in the vanilla version.

I also hear Final Fantasy is good, but I've never played it so idk.

Have you played Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas? Those are considered classics now, and highly recommended. I liked Fallout 4, but it was less RPG than the previous games.

BG2 Enhanced Edition is still great. Stands up very well, mostly because the combat is so tactical and the view is so zoomed out the graphics aren't annoyingly bad. I played it while traveling over the holidays and still very fun.

KOTOR 1/2 are incredible games but dont stand up nearly as well imo. The graphics are 3rd person so its way more noticeable and distracting cause they are pretty terrible at this point. Action combat feels real dated at this point.

Divinity Original sin is phenomenal
Witcher 2/3 phenomenal
Mass Effect 1-3 phenomenal
Dragon Age Origins phenomenal
Bioshock 1 and 3 phenomenal

dont need an emulator for ff9 runs on PC fine

also, bioshock 3 is amazing. And the story is way more fast paced than 1.

i just meant emulators for some older games in general.. like FF6 snes.. probably my fav of the series.. i bought FF 7, 8, 9 from psn last year during a huge sale and never got around to replaying 9.. i tried playing 8 again but that shit is so slow having to sit through all the summons.. i just cant do it. sucks my ps3 wont turn on.. i may get another since i got a handful of psn games i never got around to..

Southpark was like an appetizer back into the turned based rpg genre with its simply game play and short game....it definitely left me wanting more rpg action...

I went to turn on the ps3 to play Ni No Kuni since i never got around to it but the ps3 is dead.. wont turn on...

any other good turn based or other RPGs youd recommend for the wii, 360 or PC? still havent bought nor played divinity original sin.. i know one of you liked it..

Or should i just go get the enhanced edition baldur's Gates since i havent played them forever...

If you want a old style Baldur's Gate type RPG, try Pillars of Eternity.
