As @AlexKennedyNBA, Rush worked out today as the Lakers looked on. Los Angeles GM Mitch Kupchak, looking to overhaul his anemic bench, would love to add Rush to the fold. The Warriors need someone who can come in and get buckets, as well as play some defense. But the Lakers only have the mini-midlevel to offer, meaning any offer sheet Rush would sign the Lakers would have to start at $3 million. Fair to say the Warriors would love for Rush to sign an offer sheet with the Lakers. Either Rush or Lee would be good fits this year behind Rip and if they showed what the Bulls want could start next year and they could let Rip go. But like any player they're looking for the most money. But people need to understand what the Bulls know, neither of them is good enough or going to make enough of a difference to be worth going into the luxury tax for. The was a line, no doubt created by his agent, that Lee really wanted to play for Doc Rivers but money would be the determining factor. Well no kidding Doc is a great guy but at the end of the day they all use the same ball, play on the same 94 foot court with ten foot baskets and all that matters is the check.

So the Bulls are playing the waiting game and they know full well what other teams have to spend. Teams under the cap or tax level will sign the players they want and can afford. When that's over the Bulls will be looking for players who are willing to sign for a year for the minimum because they need to be able to show that they can contribute so they can get a better contract next year. The Bulls are a good place to sign to show that because players can see where they are in the line up, they don't need to come in and show off, just play defense, play hard in a limited role on a quality team and show the Bulls and other teams that they know how to adjust to a system where they aren't the star.
