Chiropractor said it is an ulnar nerve entrapment, which matched up with my expert internet diagnosis. Which I'm sure he appreciated. Tons of pain behind my shoulder blade, and my pinkie is numb. Getting old sucks balls.

Yes. In my lower back, I was doing this crazy strenuous exercise called "Getting out of a chair too fast"

I did not understand back pain until then.

Putting things on ice can give surprising results, could be some inflamation.

That's what he told me to do. Ice pack in a specific spot for 15-20 min intervals, with some biofreeze. Literally sitting here right now with an ice pack on my back. I think it is helping some. I've got a follow up appointment after they get my xrays back, and then an hour massage scheduled. Killing my productivity.

I have permanent pinched nerve in my back from my jump fail. I use a tens machine that the VA finally gave me after I said your pain pills aren't helping. I still have issues but just deal with it.

Yeah dude, I had ulnar nerve entrapment at the elbow. Well, I still do. It actually feels completely fine unless I try doing push-ups, bench press, hammer curls, neutral grip pull-ups, etc.

I have to be creative with my workouts so I can avoid the pain.

It sounds like you might have to stop jerking off.

I had one in my upper back. Buddy of mine is a DPT and gave me ultrasound treatments, massage and ice downs.

I would never, ever go to a Chiropractor.

So the tens machine is not helping?

I love mine. Helped me with my shoulder surgery. Now, it's just a muscle relaxer for the family when needed.

It helps to a point, but at times I have a softball size knot in my lower back, and the tens can only lower it to where I can do limited things.

I would trade in my lower back if possible. It’s out right now... it’s an old pain that likes to return every few months. When it’s out... I’m worlthless.

Mix Oxy with Vodka, you might be able to play goalie in the NHL.

If my hand gets numb enough, it will feel like someone else is doing it.

That's why I mix rum and moonshine, but maybe I can coach

Try a tens unit...it is some sort of witch craft. You put the diodes on the sore spots and crank the dial. It sorta hurts like shit but in a good way. When you get done with a session, you are pain free. They are cheap on amazon and when all else fails they work imo.
Or you can get the surgery. 15 mins and you are pain free

I wouldn't ice it. Of course, I do not subscribe to RICE, rather RCE. Even the inventor of the RICE method said the ice part was not good.

Not to start an argument, but icing doesn't solve anything other than temporary rescue from Inflamation.

I don't really know anything about this stuff, but wouldn't repeated icing eventually reduce inflammation? Inflammation right now is the problem because it is pushing down on the nerve and causing the problem. At least that's my understanding. It seems to be helping a bit so far.

I have that issue but it starts in my neck but definitely radiates to the pinky.

I also got piriformis. Physical therapy with butt massages really helped with that, but the insurance company fucked up and I ended up having to pay for it. The butt massages were worth it though

You’re correct.
