Looks like a sedge wren or some type of swallow.

looks like a brown creeper. the bill is not right for a wren.

They are usually found in coniferous forest.

It landed on my leg outside my building at work and would not leave. rode on my leg until i got to the front doors 5 minutes later and flew off.

brown creeper goddammit. pretty closely related to nuthatches actually. Both feed on insects in the furrows of tree bark. Nuthatches go down the tree while foraging and creepers go up. Hows that for some nifty habitat partitioning?

Creepers come from the tropics where there a many many species. But up here, there is only one species and it sticks mainly to conifers usually.

Pretty sure most nuthatches are more of that blue-grey with lighter undersides.

Yeah he was moving up the side of my leg like it was a tree trunk but was staring at me the whole time

****** must have been in a bad place if he is perched on your leg. Feel bad for the dude. They need big ass trees with deep bark furrows.

They are usually very shy and somewhat secretive. I've only caught like maybe 3 or 4, compared to other birds that live in similar habitat (like nuthatches or warblers and shit) that I've caught more than a hundred times.

They are pretty sexy birds imo opinion. I like their song too. Reminds me of the opening to some classical song I don't know the name of.

I thought this was a Charlie Parker appreciation thread but I am not disappointed. Ole, quit seducing sexy birds unless you'er going to make with the tiny insects and be a good host. Also, are there any shoe historians on here?

I used to put suet out in the winter and I'd get few sightings every week. I had to stop though because it was attracting too many woodpeckers... I don't think I've seen a creeper since.
