Don't know much, but what kind of exemption? Senior citizen, home improvement, disability, etc.?

that's what I'm trying to find out (and thanks for responding). Apparently there might be some homeowner-friendly loopholes we can exploit, which we should since they've increased our property taxes like 150% or something in the past 3 years

When I first bught my house I didnt know that I was paying tax as if I were renting it out. Had to have it changed as owner occupied. Also, u dont need a lawyer to contest tax hikes, just go find comps and appeal with those yourself. Wife has done it several times just using Zillow and filling out the form.

Supposedly if you have the toilets removed it's considered uninhabitable which really knocks the assessed value down.
