What do you mean?
From the late 60s till early seventies they were a great, great band. Very innovative and fresh. You couldnt go to a HS dance or sock hop and not hear a Chicago set. But then they went soft and syrupy and lost their edge. Touring from that point was the same 16 songs every night for the next 40 years. That's a tribute band

Seen them in concert a few times.
They're so 1980, in my wheel house, but yea, not my 22 year old's thing, though he knows the lyrics to most of their hits. It is what he gets for having to drive in my car for 16 years or so.

I'd go with 1978. Every album had a hit or two up to Chicago XII, which was the first album without Kath.

If you're into ballads, I guess you could even push it to 1984 with Chicago 16 & 17, but that's it... after Cetera left in 1985 it really went to shit.

Their best year were probably from 1969 through at least the mid-70's.

Though they had some good stuff later on.

What's ashame is by the mid-70's Robert Lam and Terry Kath weren't singing as much.

Terry especially had the best voice.
