This show is so fucked up. I knew it was gonna be, but I don't think I ever realized how gruesome that shit was because I was young when they caught him. I remember being terrified of that dude as a kid when he was arrested, especially since he used to come to Chicago (my mom's friend lived on the Northside and knew one of his victims). Shows worth a watch, and Peters slays as Dahmer.

Just eat the sandwich ?

I didn't realize the show was a dramatic telling of the story of Dahmer and not a documentary. I thought it was a documentary so I was going to watch it as half of it happened before I was born. I typically like true crime documentaries more than anything dramatized as those shows sometimes inadvertently humanize a monster like Bundy or Dahmer.

If you like true crime documentaries, there are a shit ton of them on youtube. I went down that rabbit hole shortly before covid started when I couldn't find anything to watch. It's absurd how many there are on youtube and a lot of high quality ones at that.

it was for sure pretty faithful to the grotesquery. I was sort of morbidly wondering if they would include the L&L Tavern or the Punkin Donuts (which is now a Target) in the series, since he used to cruise for victims there in Lakeview when he was in Chicago, and some people I know live right next to there (apparently Gacy showed up at the L&L in his clown costume once, too)

A buddy of mine in the USAF said he used to walk by his apartment complex every day on the way to school. Not sure if he was telling the truth or not.

Anyway...I just started watching it. Not really my jam but I've been sick for over a week, laying on the couch and binge watching shit. Running out of options at this point.

It ended up being pretty good in my opinion. I've seen other dahmer shit but this one managed to have a 'new' perspective, I suppose

I'm on episode 4. I remember the case very well. What I cant get over is Dahmers lack of cleanliness and police just "poo pooing" the stench of rotting meat. It's horrible. That smell is uncanny and if I were a police officer, I would be moved to investigate further when called to that scene.
The series paints Dahmer as this dumb **** drunk that also happens to be a serial killer. I am shocked, he wasn't caught after the first few victims.

Also, the father seems like he wanted to and could have been a serial killer himselve. Taking your son out to get roadkill? dafuq?

They really paint how inept the police were with Dahmer. They just didn't give a **** because victims were *** minorities. When they let that kid back with him, I think the body of Tony Hughes was on his bedroom floor and they were just like meh. Pretty sure Dahmer even said the police poked his head in his room. Like WTF?

The second half of the series really highlighted his victims. I know some people are complaining about another Dahmer telling, but I thought this was done pretty well. I think they should probably give the victims families some of the proceeds though.

I kept saying that to my ma because it creeps her out lol. Same with "my precious" from LOTR.

I said this in my thread, I think. But, now, you got the whole internet like OMG! Dahmer killed people cause of his childhood. Childhood trauma is real and can shape a person life completely, no doubt. But, in no way was Dahmer the sick **** he was because of child trauma. That mofo was born that way and would have found that life one way or another. Its like people are trying to justify his actions. Its effing weird.

Yes, especially during a time that Aids was soaring. The cops wanted nothing to do with any of it

Yeah, that mofo was definitely born that way. Some just are. I wish they would've been able to study his brain. Even finding nothing would've been worth the attempt.

I was truly disturbed watching this series. Evan Peters deserves an Emmy.

That was a tough watch.

Heartbreaking not only for Tony, but his family. I don't blame any of them for being upset about the series.
