Anyone else at Work today?

Christmas Eve.... its practically dead in the city, only 3 other people in my office.

Anyone else actually "working" Christmas Eve since its practically a throwaway day?

Nope. Company holiday.

My dad use to take my sister and I downtown to his office on Christmas Eve when we were little. I remember there still being plenty of people working that day. Just seems the tide has turned and less companies are having the day as a work day / many employees are taking the day off now.

Not like much of anything gets done on this day anyways.

I don't know how many places have 12/24 as a holiday, but I am thinking its 50% or more and then probably 30-40% of people take the day as PTO or they "WFH"

Well of my close friends, 4 have the day off, 2 took vacations, and 1 is working since hes in retail.

I'm sorta working this morning, but from home. Just shooting out some emails, doing a little planning for Q1 2014 etc. I'll probably stop in an hour or so and just shut off the next 2 days.

Seems to be working now. Dude had to replace the control board. The only thing I don't have is the thermostat, but he's fixing that up now.

The worst part is that I had my three nieces who wanted to stay the night. The two older ones got my bed, but the 1 year old was in some kind of play-pen-bed. I was on the couch and woke up shivering at 4am. So it was a pain in the ass getting them over to my parents at that time.
