Added a 16 x 18' den built on a slab 25 years ago. So, I had to add a third heating source to the house. I currently have an outside furnace with a separate AC. Heating guys talking about a ductless "mini split". They are preparing a quote but say I will save a lot on gas/electric and the Mini Split plus lower installation

Anyone have any experience with cost savings and the initial infrastructure costs? Also, seems that ComEd has a rebate and the Feds offer an income taxe credit

What brand are they offering and what SEER rating? From the description of the room it sounds like a mini split would be a good route to go.
