Apple TV question?

I want to buy another Apple TV 4K. There is one on Craigslist for $140 which is $40 off the store price. It’s also sealed. So with that said, if this product was stolen from the seller and I buy it, will it still work for me? I don’t want to buy it and it ends up being stolen and it doesn’t work. Not sure if it’s like a phone purchase.

You should be good either way. Would just need to log into your own APPLE ID I believe. I don't think it's going to hold you hostage on the previous owners if it was stolen.

Thanks for the help. But then again, I can see Hans Gruber working for Apple and holding me hostage and I’m waiting for John McClane to rescue me.
