It’s the best but you got to watch out for old people.

That's unreal. Even with lane dividers...they only made it worse.

I think the double wides are treacherous but that one should be seamless.

We have them all over the place here and people seem to be able to navigate them pretty easy.

I don't know about hard, but I fucking hate them. It's been a trend in recent years to add them to different areas around here. I know they are supposed to be more efficient/safer but that doesn't change my opinion. On one stretch of road I frequently travel, they dropped the speed limit from 50 to 35 and added 4 roundabouts in about a 3 mile stretch. And there wasn't an accident problem there.

In conclusion, **** roundabouts.

IDK about hard, but I say that roundabouts are fascist.

Well it is Kentucky so.......

Our city has (somewhat) recently found a love for round abouts. I am fine with them except the stupid and very old make them more difficult.

I'm about 45 miles west of Chicago and they're puttin' these ******* in everywhere. Even low traffic, rural intersctions that had ZERO problems prior. They seem to slow traffic considerably where ever they put em,people either completely stop regardless and some kinda fly right into it......I think I'm in the last group!LOL!

They did better than this guy:

Put in a roundabout in my old town. Two friends died on their bikes because they did not know it was there. And yes...they were going to fast.

I have the opposite experience- there are 5 or 6 that popped up recently by me that have really eased traffic.
Most of them replaced 4 way stops, but 2 of them went in to 3 way intersections that were crash magnets.
Both were t intersections with people getting creamed coming out or rear ended waiting for a left.
They are all big time savers.

I agree that despite the stupidity of people figuring out how they actually work, overall they are MUCH MUCH better at easing traffic congestion.

Where there used to be people lined up for a block waiting for a stop light to change there is rarely if ever much of a line any longer.

Net positive, just have to get past the learning curve of how to operate said roundabouts.

I knew SOMEBODY had to like em you guys!LOL!
I can see how they'd help a congested intersection but they're being installed in rural intersections out by me that had no congestion at all but then again, municipalities have to 'use it or lose it' when it comes to federal and state road funds.

Yea, installing them where there isn't any congestion is a little silly, They do a great job of smoothing out traffic at a busy 4 way stop, or at a busy stop light with no turn lanes etc.

I think that is so people can get used to how they work before putting them in busier places.
